Just for a factual context: the person singing actually loves Ready Player One
Spoilers!!!
I think the movie should be a lot more fun than the book because it's one thing to write 'AND THEN GUNDAM TOTALLY CRASHED INTO SPIDERMAN BUT SPIDERMAN HAD HELP FROM HALO BUT GUNDAM HAD GODZILLA TO HELP HIM OUT BU"
But it's another thing entirely to like... get all the licenses to all those IPs and put them on the screen.

Product placement and actual crossovers are two different things. The movie's going to suck hard just like the book.
I'm expecting the movie to be fun, not good. Doesn't strike me as the kind of thing you go and watch when you're in the mood for a narrative masterpiece. The book is pretentious garbage but the movie will probably be worth a watch.

Have you seen it though?
That "I-I-I-I remember" part gets me every time.
I can't wait to clap like a giggling school girl as my audiovisual senses are raped by 80s pop culture references.
5 bucks people cheer if it references star wars

I clapped! I clapped when I saw it!
I know what that is!

All this makes me think is how the best possible version of Ready Player One would just be an hour and a half of the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny.
