This is Louis Wain, some of you might have heard of him, and he's was a painter. He painted cats mostly and he was diagnosed with schitzophrenia. This is a video of how his paintings changed as he slipped deeper and deeper into the schitzophrenic mind of his. Fascinating, sad, amazing and most of all very interesting! Some of those beginning paintings are pretty damn good. But creepy.
1:42 he was clearly onto something..
as odd as they were, the latter ones were fucking detailed.
This is interesting, it's nice to look inside a schizophrenics mind.
I liked the later ones better. But the best cat in a human situation image ever is this one:
I read this as 'The schitzophrenic printer' so got a bit confused, interesting though
I want to see someone from LOLcats try to subtitle 1:42
I read this as 'The schitzophrenic printer' so got a bit confused, interesting though
Silly, all printers are schizophrenic.
Silly, all printers are schizophrenic.
No, no, printers are brain damaged. "BUUUUUH-BAAAAAAAAAH-bvvt-chick-bvvt-chick-bvvt-bvvvvvvt-BUUUUH-BAAAAAH*ripping noise"
The original furry?
The original furry?
Wow, I mean wow. Please, jump under a train.
Wow, I mean wow. Please, jump under a train.
The cat's out of the bag. He was a furry. I just really wanted to make a pun out of that. Sorry.
God, it's so creepy.
The music just makes the video seem more creepy. But those are some cool paintings.
The cat being crowned king is used as both my avatar on steam and my homemade album cover on itunes.
Wow, I mean wow. Please, jump under a train.
I'm just saying, some of them pictures at the start of the video.
I'm just saying, some of them pictures at the start of the video.
Anthropomorphic creature =/= Furry. People post this shit in many threads, it's annoying as fuck and not funny.
I'm not sure if I now feel enlightened towards how bad schizophrenia can be, or if I feel depressed that he showed it's progression in his paintings.
Aww.
I'm not sure if I now feel enlightened towards how bad schizophrenia can be, or if I feel depressed that he showed it's progression in his paintings.
You can feel both. Depressing enlightenment. That'd be a cool band name.
So I'm guessing he really likes cats.
God damn, 5 hours later and I still can't shake this off of my mind for some reason. Time to read up on schizophrenia.
trippy
I can just imagine a bunch of guys in a gallery laughing at cats. Its the early 1900's so they would of all had mustaches and hats. But this artist seems interesting, thanks for posting this.
Poor amazing bastard. Heart, winner or informative, I CANNOT DECIDE.
This one has more of his art [editline]24th July 2011[/editline] Fun Fact: When he was deep in his Schizophrenia, he drew one of the cats the same time.
this is sad and scary
