I'm glad he didn't forget to add the intro bit.
John should consider singing more. Why do almost all critics have a sexy voice?

I like youtube's seekbar preview, lets me see the list in 5 seconds without having to listen to him ramble on.
John should consider singing more. Why do almost all critics have a sexy voice?
People who have great presentable voices have good control over their voices which in turn allows them to sing better
I actually enjoyed this top 10.
Pretty good list, glad to see The Wonderful 101 on the list and getting some recognition as it's probably my personal Game of the Year.
I always like to keep in mind that Total Biscuit's real name is John Bain, which makes him sound like a supervillain.
I don't agree with him on his top 1, but he described why he thought it was so good to him so well that I don't even care.
pretty good list and well justified. i'm glad that TB is starting to take nintendo exclusives into consideration.

God dammit boner. [sp]No regrets.[/sp]
I haven't seen Killer Instict's tutorial, is it really any better than Skullgirls'?
I agree with virtually everything on this list but #1. I enjoyed the game, but no where near as much as some of the other titles on this list. The sheer kiddy-like giggling I had from The Stanley Parable were far more entertaining in my mind that than most things, even if they were short lived or immature comparatively.
While Brothers was enjoyable, I wouldn't personally put it on my list at all. The controls, while used innovatively, ended up breaking the immersion (by having one of the characters run into a wall until you noticed it, because you were focused on the other one), and the story was nothing to write home about, same goes for the puzzles. The characters were pretty awfully written as well, especially so during the first few chapters. [editline]22nd December 2013[/editline] Still, I agree with a majority of his choices.
Has TB played Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, or Journey? Because the way he's describing Brothers sounds like he thinks it's the first game that did it. The whole "use the interactivity to convey your themes" fiasco started with Ico, and in my opinion, perfected in Shadow of the Colossus.
With The Stanley Parable and Brothers being so fresh I don't quite get why Hearthstone is bridging the gap between them as #2. It's good, but it brings nothing new to the table.
It's a list of 2013 games.
He stated Brothers as the best game of all time though.
He stated Brothers as the best game of all time though.
He's said that about a lot of games. Take it with a grain of salt.
"my favorite game of all time" If you're going to quote someone, at least do it correctly...
Fair enough but I feel like you're missing the point. I brought up Ico because TB heavily praised Brothers for being able to tell a simple story with the mechanics. So I asked whether or not he's played Ico, if not then I can understand why he loved Brothers so much. Even then, he claims to be a video game journalist so surely he must have heard of these other games. I'm not condemning his opinion, I'm just confused.
Or maybe he liked Brothers more than Ico...
Did you guys watch the video? The way he talks about Brothers makes it sound like he thinks it's the first game that does it, and that's why I'm asking. Oh and by the way he does say that it was the best game he's played. Christ, are you guys just blindly trying to defend TB at every turn without even watching the video or understanding what I meant?

There was a podcast where he and Jontron gave Castlevanis Lords of Shadow hell for the Ice Colossus boss fight. I feel that he's still in the Honeymoon period with Brothers and it'll wear out. I like the idea the 4Player Network have of disallowing any games released in the last 2 years from your All Time list because you can be more favourable to games you have only recently played and haven't scrutinised over the years.
Maybe I should watch his Brothers video then because I'm really curious to see why he thought it was better than SotC. Look, I liked Brothers too maybe it would make my top 10 this year, but top anything for all time is just sounds ridiculous. I remember when I played Bioshock Infinite and I thought it was one of the greatest games ever. Yeah, I'm not that proud of myself either.
Game of the YURR

Way too much vibrato.
so glad path of exile was on there it needs so much more recognition, it's got to be the best free to play model ever
