Every single time I hear the word Starkiller I can't help but think of that fuck from Force Unleashed

To be fair the first game was really good, its a shame the 2nd was a letdown.

it's easier to just call him Buzzcut B. McStubble

I replayed through both of them and they're both horrible :v:

I think in terms of gameplay the first was decent enough but the story was seriously just a higher budget fanfiction

Technically all star wars EU is fan fiction now.Except those that have been decided to be cannon otherwise.

So, all of it then.
Because nothing was declared to be canon from old EU except for the stuff done by Lucas (movies and TCW).
And the official novelizations
In other news: Kylo Ren tries on a bomb suit.

Most stuff that's been made since the Disney takeover is cannon too. Comics and such.

He mentioned Star Wars EU, which there is only one, now known as Legends.
The new "SW EU" is simply canon, without an actual split between movies+cartoons and books, comic books and other forms of media

here's the thing though, i actually LIKED the fact Starkillers family emblem was used for the rebel alliance, it actually made sense and was very well done!

That was the only thing I liked from it
Also, no one has actually talked about the video
And the official novelizations
Actually no, the Novelizations of the previous movies are not canon.
Also, no one has actually talked about the video
Yes, exactly! EXACTLY!

Well not quite
"To clarify, movie novelizations are canon where they align with what is seen on screen in the 6 films and the Clone Wars animated movie."
So if they say/show something not in the movie, that bit isn't canon.
I love that we live in an age where the stars of Star Wars can just do this kind of shit. I mean, we basically had a humorous Star Wars parody with the real actor from Star Wars.

that's how its always been.
but, if something isn't in the movie - but would be directly contradicted (such as Obi-Wan being Owen's brother, and I'd say that's a factoid from the original novelization of Episode IV). if something directly contradicts the movie, then the movie trumps it. At least that's how I read that statement.
but, on the whole, the novels are canon. like its always been.
but this is definitely still preferable to what Lucas had going on for canon before, with like 4 or 5 levels of canon.
[editline]17th January 2016[/editline]
also this skit was great. I don't think it would have been nearly as good without Adam Driver.
I always wonder if they use the actual costumes for things like this, and if they're just using a cheap duplicate for the skit, I wonder what it's like for Adam to be using a copy of his own costume

AFAIK the levels thing wasn't Lucas idea, it was LucasFilm trying to keep things in line.
Lucas never considered anything outside of his work to be 'canon'. If he saw something from the EU he liked he would use it, like Aayla Secura (or like having Darth Talon in the cancelled Darth Maul game :v:), he would use it, but that is about it.

Terrorist cell leader, Sam Hyde.

Yes.

I believe they used his screen used Kylo Ren costume for the sketch
i like how even though this is a parody you still inadvertently see deeper in Adam Driver's portrayal of Kylo Ren as a character because he is still staying in-character, despite it being much more exaggerated due to the environment of being an SNL skit
it's really really interesting to see an actor apply his own really serious character to something so silly.

It was working fine yesterday :what:
