Just one more reason to be profoundly disturbed with the direction of this country...
And watch as people continue to push to slash police budgets forcing them to rely even more heavily on these seizures for funding.

For funding of their margarita machines.
So let me get this straight, they're too broke to afford necessities but they have tanks? What the fuck are they considering necessities?

Assuming you're referring to the armored vehicles that everyone has been sensationalizing beyond meaning (seriously guys: it was maybe three departments in the entire country getting a single armored jeep each), they basically get those for free since the military is using them to offload gear they don't need.
Cities like LA pretty much need those vehicles anyway. They would have been real handy during the riots, and I believe an armored truck saved an officer's life during the North Hollywood Shootout

Sorry, it's just every time this comes up at least one guy starts screaming about that department that got an MRAP, and it's getting a bit absurd. Either way that's still just an armored carrier, doesn't appear to have mounted weapons of any kind, would be used for transporting SWAT and civilians in the event of a shootout, or are you saying you'd rather that they both be huddling behind unarmored car frames from 10+ years ago. I really don't understand how camo pattern SWAT uniforms and better armored vehicles, at no additional taxpayer expense, is something to be up in arms over. Heck even the most convincing argument that mr.Oliver here made was based around video of an officer waving around an AR15, something that he didn't get from the military and something that police have had for decades.
So Cops are legally allowed to steal because "drugs"? Land of the Free :v:
I'm really glad my country doesn't have this law, it's so easily to abuse that you may as well use it to buy a goddamn Margarita Machine.
Keep posting these, I love these Last Week Reports.
They have made it unavailable in England.
Anyone have any mirrors?
Nevermind, watched it with a proxy plugin thingy.
How the fuck has this not been taken to the supreme court yet? There's no way this wouldn't be considered blatantly unconstitutional. This breaks at least 3 different amendments.

This show has shown me way too many things that shouldn't exist in the world today. My only complaint is sometimes John peppers in one too many jokes that are essentially "this thing is sure like <POP CULTURE REFERENCE>". It's a shame since this is an otherwise really informative news/recap show.
