I can hardly bear to watch the acting is so bad and none of them look or sound like who they're supposed to be
I love Star Trek but whew boy the original series is not good. I know lots of the people behind Continues grew up on TOS but TNG really established itself as the canon for all future Trek. If anything I'd prefer people try to emulate that style because it has a lot more depth to it both as a show and philosophically.
For me trying to watch TOS was futile, and I really wanted to like it. Like 3 of the first 4 episodes are a spooky person with powers and I just gave up at that point. It's so boring and simplistic.
