The reason socialism doesn't work is the plain and simple fact that in that sort of economic system, the defined 'average worker' never can raise their value in said system as they are disallowed that; otherwise, governmental personell and other figures are righted political and economic freedoms, wealth that anyone else is disallowed.

The problem with "liberals," or rather the word "liberal" in the US, is that it means a person who is "leftist" economic and socially. Blame the two part system / Republicans for demonizing the word and stop attacking "liberals" and start attacking people who are left on the economy if you feel that way.
Also in theory capitalism, socialism, and communism are great ideas. In reality most of the implementations of them suck and fuck the vast majority of the population over.

There mainly is no difference in party systems, they are all the same. But progressive agendas and such are the primary promotion to the so proclaimed "left leaning" ideology that taints the worldwide common political system(s).
