Honestly I have to agree. For some reason this trailer just makes things look bland.

It sort of reminds me of the introduction to Call of Cthulhu but it just doesn't seem that interesting.

TPS horror games have never done it for me. I know loads of people like them because of games like Dead Space, Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

Pretty much this. While I don't see what's wrong with trying to captivate a larger audience by making a game more accessible, it makes no sense to try to capture another game's audience because honestly they're not gonna play your game they'll stick to whatever franchise they're playing.
