I wish World War 2 games would stop being made, the effect has dried out, there are other wars you know, or maybe try make your own history.
I wish World War 2 games would stop being made, the effect has dried out, there are other wars you know, or maybe try make your own history.
we havent had a good WWII shooter since...2008, so I have to disagree with you wholeheartedly.

Imagine a good WW2 MMOFPS.
It was the WW2 FPS games that made the theme repetitive. This isn't exactly a Call of Duty game, now is it?
The theme is repeated and failed in every genre so many times, either make something good or make something different, there are exceptions but don't act like I'm not allowed to complain about repetitiveness when everyone else does it in every other theme.
we havent had a good WWII shooter since...2008, so I have to disagree with you wholeheartedly.
But why would you want something that already has been done for years now? You already know what's going to happen, what creative gameplay could someone put in yet another WW2 game?

Paradox knew exactly who they were selling it to when they made it.
That's why I said, there are exceptions. It's the repetitiveness that gets to me
name any theme that has only good games without exception what are you even complaining about world war 2 games haven't been overrdone for years, and hearts of iron is a great world war 2 series that'd be like me complaining about game of thrones being part of the fantasy theme that is overdone, despite the series being exceptional if you're sick of world war 2 games, stop playing them.
now only if they fixed the default brigade/regiment names tired of playing as Germany and getting 45th Motorized Brigade in my 22. Panzer-Division.............. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] also, this isn't about beating the WWII genre to death, it's more about improving on previous titles, why do you think there have been 3 editions of Hearts of Iron so far?
Imagine a good WW2 MMOFPS.
WWII Online: Battleground Europe. Fucking shitty as fuck graphics, but it's a damn good game.
WWII Online: Battleground Europe. Fucking shitty as fuck graphics, but it's a damn good game.
With monthly subscriptions and an overcomplicated campaign system. Thank you but no thank you
There was a brief time where I could say WW2 games were being over done. But that time has come and gone. With new engines, better graphics, and more capabilities of those engines. I think we are long over due for a awesome WW2 FPS. I am utterly shocked no one has not taken the chance to strike down WW2 Online and come out with something far better. I played the shit out of WW2 Online. Just got sick of paying for it.

To say that you can't have a good story take place during the war just because you know how the war ends is incredibly ignorant. I want more stories like Call of Duty: Big Red One and Brothers in Arms. Stories not about the war, but the people fighting it. Camaraderie, military bromance shit. I eat that stuff up. And with the new generation a feel like it's a great time for a super gritty and authentic WWII FPS with a nice new dramatic tale on the Normandy front or something. It's just a great setting with a lot of potential.

I want a WW2 fps with an Axis campaign. [editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] I want it to be either completely gray, or full on black and white with you committing war crimes.

[editline]23rd January 2014[/editline] I want it to be either completely gray, or full on black and white with you committing war crimes.
I want a WW2 FPS with an Axis campaign where you go to war and live the life of a normal professional soldier and enjoy your job and make lots of lifelong friends and you hardly see the enemy and your unit takes little casualties and doesn't participate in any war crimes and you end up saddened by defeat but carry on with your life in a new world and reminiscence about the unique experience you had the honor of living when you're 80 years old and surrounded by loving family. Something tells me I shouldn't hold my breath.
