Nerd chills. Metro 2033 had such amazing atmosphere and I hope this is no different.
Oh man I am so pumped right now. 2012 can't arrive fast enough.
Shut up and take my money.

What does that mean? 2033 was near-perfect.
looks like they're recycling some stuff from metro 2033
anyway, i hope it includes more physiological elements, the mind games with the dark ones at the end of metro 2033 was great
I said it in the other thread and here:
I'm hoping for more Hansa.

With other games coming out later on like Skyrim and Zelda: Skyward Sword (and Metro, of course), I'm gonna run out of cash.
Also, there's alot of side crap they could work with from the book. for instance,
the star on the Kremlin, that when you look directly at it, you're put into a trance and walk towards it involuntarily,
and the cult of the worm that lives in "Metro 2", the separated part of the tunnels where an isolated community draws in people to sacrifice to their god, a giant worm that supposedly made the metro,
or the surface creatures that swarmed down every night the massive hole to the surface in one station, where the inhabitants have genetic defects due to radiation exposure.
Or maybe the tale of the Satanists, where they abduct and force people to dig in a giant pit downward, believing that Hell is very close to the metro.
Perhaps the Red Revolutionary Brigade, made of Trotskyists and waving a flag of Che Guevara who make raids on both the Hans and the Reds?
So much crap they can explore. They really oughtta.
It appears Ukrainian game developers really love Portishead.
I came into this thread thinking "I hope this isn't that video that contrasted concept art with gameplay video to Portishead's 'Machine Gun' "
Thankfully it wasn't the video I had in mind, but it still ended up doing it.
By the time I finish watching all these trailers they make for this game, I'm going to end up owning the entire damn Portishead discography. I never listened to them before that E3 trailer. :v:
In the other trailer I saw a nagant.
Thats a day 1 buy for me.
It's nice, I don't normally play games like this and STALKER but somehow I managed to pull through it.
I really like the atmosphere of the game.
I loved the first game so much, 'side from the somewhat bland voice acting and poorly optimized engine, other than that, it's my favorite post apocalyptic game.

The Dark Ones are dead.
And the reason why they are recycling some stuff IS BECAUSE IT'S THE SAME UNIVERSE, THE SAME CHARACTERS WITH LARGE ADDITIONS.
Damn.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
OH YES OH YES OH YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR A NEW METROEHAJHADJHAHJAFDHJAHAJHAJH

The dark ones are dead if you choose the bad ending, last light could take either one.
I'm not sure which direction they're going to take with last light, but i'm assuming they're going to be in different parts of the metro, and no one likes using the same weapons, they could easily have some different assault rifles and pistols from the ones found in the parts of the metro artyom didn't go to.

Mind games are still a possibility without the dark ones, seeing as Last Light takes the bad ending as the canon one.
Also, it's a post-apocalyptic world, I'm sure they're not concerned about choice other than necessity.

Last Light is taking the CANON ENDING.
Aka, the bad one.
Read the fucking book, don't follow the game if you want to know the canon story.
Oh well. Time for another Loan...
:smith:
Oh lordy, I love the first and all the STALKER games, can't wait, seriously.

For some reason Russian Apocalyptica is best Apocalyptica
Never played Metro 2033. Anyone care to sell it to me? I loved Stalker, and it often gets compared to that.
If you love STALKER, you'll love Metro 2033. It's easily one of the most atmospheric and engaging games I've ever played. It's pretty linear, but it makes up for it in every way. It couldn't get much better without giving you paid-for prostitutes every time you play it.
There's a book?
If so I'm so gonna buy it.
Watched it 3 times. I'm still in awe.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is the dumbest post EVER, related to Metro.
Yes, there is a book called Metro 2033: The Last Retreat (full title in sweden atleast) which the game, Metro 2033, is based on.
Last Light is based on the universe that 2033 made, that 2034 continued and the smaller books that the same writer has released.
Ninja'd

It's in the game at least a thousand times.

Actually Dmitry only wrote the first two books. The rest have been written by other authors interested in the universe who were allowed permission by Dmitry and fan writers.
Ah, then that is news for me.
Quite nice.

It's pretty similar to the Sherlock Holmes Series and Cthulhu Mythos.
