I have to say the quality of the assets looks pretty good. I mean just look at the bump maps on these gloves.

Things right with Sonic Boom (As far as we know):
1. Tails doesn't sound like a 7 year old.
2. No extra characters like Shadow, Big, Charmy, or <Generic Human Love Interest>
3. The designs seem to be better than expected, They're just slight exaggerations of the old designs.
Also, The show [I]is[/I] directed towards "Boys 6-11", so it's not like amazing, award-winning writing should be expected.

It doesn't look terrifyingly bad from a kids show standpoint. Tallass sonic is weird as hell though.

I quite like Amy's design and Sonic's and Tails' are at least passable, but holy hell; what did they do to Knuckles? Eggman isn't great either. Since when does Eggman have a huge chest leading to a skinny waist? That's the opposite of what he's meant to look like. Also his mustache is too small.
How can the show have such great animation, especially for a TV show, but the game is

Sanzaru's making the 3DS version, Big Red Button (made of ex-Naughty Dog devs from Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter) is working on the Wii U version.

The animation looks pretty amazing, and even though the writing obviously isn't the best, it still looks pretty interesting.
This actually looks pretty good not gonna lie, even if it is targeted at a younger audience.
