Ps1 is non existent, ps2 is good I hear.
They're emulating it in a higher resolution than the ps2 could, looks nice from what I've seen.

What would be different from this and the PS3 collection? I got the PS3 collection and what I know is that the PS3 runs on 720p and 60fps

IIRC PS4 emulation runs the native PS2 resolution upscaled to 720p, and the performance is smoother if not identical to the original (It depends on game).
Unless the PS3 version had more improvements than just resolution, it'll be pretty much identical.
Funny enough, I rented Jak and Daxter, bought Jak 2 from a local Toys R Us while I bought the first one from Costco and haven't opened it in YEARS. Jak 2 is my favorite in the series. Wonder how much they're selling the first one for?

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is the first game. They just started adding numbers onto the rest, besides Lost Frontier which wasn't made by Naughty Dog and wasn't really good.

I'm not sure about how they compare, but the games look great as far as resolution and everything goes, and I never experienced any framedrops or anything.
From what I played of Destroy All Humans 1+2, it is basically a perfect emulation that looks slightly crisper.
PS4 emulation doesn't upscale, it's literally uprendered. Vice City and San Andreas for exmaple look pretty amazing and remain faithful in terms of performance. I mean it's pretty easy to tell that it's 1080p after playing so many PC games at 1080p without antialiasing

I've been playing GTA SA and bully on my PS4, no problem whatsoever. Emulation is great and plays just like or better than the original. The only gripe I have is with upscaling but that's about it
GTA SA looks fucking awful in widescreen, it looks better in 4:3

IIRC that's because it doesn't actually widen the viewport, it just crops and stretches

They used (god knows why) the PS3 versions instead of the PS2 versions to port the Jak games.

They once worked on a fourth game. But they couldn't find a fitting style for it.

This is also how they created the first Last of Us game because every time they tried to make concepts for Jak 4 they did it in a realistic way due to the PS3's possible power.

Fun fact because this is my favorite series and I know a lot of useless trivia about it - they were never planning on a sequel unless the original sold well, which is why the first game has your "uncle" and absolutely no mention of time travel. It wasn't even thought of until well after the development of The Precursor Legacy.

Should've gone with the trailer music from PBPX-95506 disc not those fart noises. They better bring back more classics, finding a backwards compatible PS3 is fucking hard here. But can't really be bothered to get the PS2 either. Might finally get a new console after PS2.
It's a shame Jak & Daxter remains nigh impossible to emulate as far as I'm aware. It's part of my childhood and although I still own a copy of it with a working PS2, I wish I could play it on more recent hardware without having to buy a PS4.
I really like how simple and stylish they did the trailer.
