I'll bet that guy has either:
A. Never played an instrument in his life.
or B. Plays one, but is mediocre and can't bare to hear anyone else play but himself.

So what does that have to do with being in a closed space with multiple loud instruments playing?
It's reasons like this I find shredding so meh and noisy. If people slowed down to really let nuances of their playing shine that racket might just become slightly better racket.
If everyone played the same song/jammed together it'd sound amazing.
Shredding rarely sounds worth a shit, ever. It's always shoe horned randomly into the music and sounds like it doesn't belong.
Satch, Vai and Ozielzinho are the only three guys that make it sound good, and Satriani is borderline sometimes. Even stuff by Randy Rhoads feels like it just doesn't fit with the rest of the music

You can skip to 2:00 to get to the fun stuff
You forgot Buckethead, man. You can't forget Buckethead, man.
Local guitar / musical instrument stores here thankfully don't usually have multiple people playing. Instead, they just have notes like:

The following songs are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED:
Smoke on The Water
Paranoid
The Trooper
etc.

This is the only song that should be allowed to be played in a guitar store

Because being a talented musician makes you immune to loud obnoxious noises, duh.

And Paul Gilbert, who taught Buckethead for a little bit.
