I'm definitely more interested in this one than the previous few CoD's, but I think I'm still going to wait for reviews and what not before buying..
"Transcends the line between between game and film" MGS has been doing that since the late 90s Also, anyone else think that one guy in the thumbnail looks like Keanu Reeves? [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] But yeah this one looks far more entertaining gameplaywise and storywise than the last 6 or 7 CoDs
"Transcends the line between between game and film" Isn't that what David Cage tried to do? And it was fucking terrible Honestly that's a line that doesn't bode well with me
"Transcends the line between between game and film" Isn't that what David Cage tried to do? And it was fucking terrible
Only because his writing isn't brilliant. Cage can have good ideas and make them come true well enough.
troy baker is looking a lot like wolverine there
Those graphics are really nice. I heard they made a completely new engine just for this game.
I can't tell if any of that pre-rendered or not. Had COD ever done pre-rendered trailers before?
Hahaha, Kevin Spacey is in it
I can't tell if any of that pre-rendered or not. Had COD ever done pre-rendered trailers before?
the super-detailed story cutscenes, like where the protagonist troy baker is seen, are most likely pre-rendered, like in Blops 2.
Oh wow, I wonder how Troy Baker is going to react to seeing his own face on the character. That hasn't happened before.
I want every game to star Troy Baker's handsome face it needs to be everywhere
Waiter, I see some HoC in My CoD
Oh wow, I wonder how Troy Baker is going to react to seeing his own face on the character. That hasn't happened before.
yeh it has? [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] like, hundreds of movie games, la: noire, alien's dlc etc [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] or did you just mean for that actor
Waiter, I see some HoC in My CoD
*tap tap*
Only because his writing isn't brilliant. Admittedly COD has been a gameseries that has been trying to get to that line for ages.
people always say "metal gear is like a film" but i dont see that at all. the reason it's such a good game and why kojima is such a good director of games is because it uses the medium to do stuff that only the medium of video games can do [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] CoD is probably closer to being a very average hollywood action film tbh, but i say that for mostly negative reasons; very mundane characterisation, lots of blockbuster set-pieces, mild political commentary, relatively short runtime, relative lack of user input, etc

The game looks good but there hasn't been any info on the PC version so I'm not sure about getting this. EDIT: I mean come on, they don't even care about PC. Just look at this.
Those graphics are really nice. I heard they made a completely new engine just for this game.
There is little incentive for them to completely switch engines, people haven't bought COD for it's graphical horsepower for a long time.

We have a lot of love for the PC community at the studio."
Considering the fact that every cod ran just fine on my semi crappy laptop, I have some doubts about them needing better optimisation.
For some reason it feels like they ripped off Planetside and Titanfall and combined it into one package with COD guns

don't we always say "hey maybe this call of duty will change it up, this actually looks good" and then we end up getting shafted again
don't we always say "hey maybe this call of duty will change it up, this actually looks good" and then we end up getting shafted again
that only really happened with MW3 and Ghosts [editline]19th October 2014[/editline] I mean the others didn't change a lot but they were enjoyable
people always say "metal gear is like a film" but i dont see that at all. the reason it's such a good game and why kojima is such a good director of games is because it uses the medium to do stuff that only the medium of video games can do [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] CoD is probably closer to being a very average hollywood action film tbh, but i say that for mostly negative reasons; very mundane characterisation, lots of blockbuster set-pieces, mild political commentary, relatively short runtime, relative lack of user input, etc
COD is a cheap thrill, its the transformers of video games, you know the game sucks, but you're gonna want to play it for the explosions and cool stuff. Its a game to pass time, and you'll go, 'hey, its shit but then I got to play with cool weapons/gadgets and see explosions' Just like a transformers movie.
Watch has Kevin Spacey gets typecasted as "politics involved guy in suit."
I can't stand the constant strive to make games more like movies. It'd be like having a quote that says "Transcends the line between between film and book" They're completely different media, it doesn't make sense trying to make one like the other.
This honestly doesn't look that bad. I'm gunna wait for other peoples opinions tho before getting it.
I want every game to star Troy Baker's handsome face it needs to be everywhere
Yeah lets just throw out originality in character designs altogether.
