So I spent a bit of time having fun with making this video. For anyone that's interested, it shows what comes in the set (which is wonderful by the way, highly recommend checking it out), but also documents in an entertaining way how ridiculous it was to open Enjoy
Holy fucking shit I need to get hold of this and a PS3. Dammit.
Yeah, it's pretty awesome huh. I couldn't believe the size of it when they brought it out last night
Holy fucking shit I need to get hold of this and a PS3. Dammit.
too bad the ps3 framerate is terrible

Shame though, I really would like to play it properly with a PS controler. I wish I had a console now so I can play this awesome remake.
...What is so bad? The average human eye cannot tell a discernible difference above 30fps anyway. Then watch it again running 120fps on a 120Hz screen and tell me you can't see a difference.

As in no one is really going to care because it doesn't hamper the experience to the point of unplayable. lol Dumb me all you want guys. It's true. The average eye does not notice a discernable difference above a certain framerate. That's not everyone, but the majority. Sure I notice a difference. Is it game breaking? Absolutely not. Why do people get their panties in a bunch over stuff like this.
The framerate issues, while bad in the sense that we're pretty much at the end of the PS3 and 360 lifespans and thus it shouldn't be that hard to somehow optimize, aren't too bad if you actually played the original ZoE2 and realize that the PS2 chugged pretty badly half the time on it, so it's technically 'accurate'. If I remember right, MGS:HDC managed to get some consistent 60 FPS on both 2 and 3 (although 2 originally had it in gameplay anyway), and Zone of the Enders technically shared an engine with Metal Gear Solid 2, so it's actually kinda sad to see Konami [apparently] outsource it to coders who couldn't optimize the framerate like the collection before it.
psst http://boallen.com/fps-compare.html you can easily see 60fps is more fluid than 30. for a video game i'd imagine you'd need as much information as humanly possible to reduce the response time between your eyes and your fingers. because you may not notice a difference, but your brain does. anyway thanks for showing us this sweet collection, and have fun!
too bad the ps3 framerate is terrible
That really put me off now considering that's just the start of the game too with not an awful lot going on. Can only imagine it gets worse once there's more shit happening.
You guys have got to be fucking kidding me it's a difference of <8 fps you're almost as silly as the Gamespot forums. Console games don't usually run at 60fps big fucking deal both sides were completely acceptable and playable.
I can't even see anything bad in that video
too bad the ps3 framerate is terrible
I noticed no difference in fluidity. They both looked nigh identical even though the PS3's average FPS was lower.
I noticed no difference in fluidity. They both looked nigh identical even though the PS3's average FPS was lower.
because youtube has a 30 fps cap.
Why are we arguing over FPS, what did people think of the unboxing?
It was very informative; I didn't even know there was going to be a HD release of Zone of the Enders, let alone a affordable collectors edition. I'm going to pick up a copy soon, thanks to this video.
Why are we arguing over FPS, what did people think of the unboxing?
I like the humorous approach to it, wasn't expecting the second game's theme to sync with your 'anguish'. :v: Damn, I knew I should've paid more attention to the release. Ah well, just another collection i'll have to miss out on I guess.
It's French, not Italian.
It's French, not Italian.
I realized this when I was editing the video >_>

I have to pick this game up some time. I remember buying ZOE 2 at launch, the game was just too much for the PS2 to handle at the time and the games frame rate would plummet when too much started happening. I can't wait for the sequel which is long over due

To imagine it at a silky 60fps is a pipedream.
I can give you guys a bit of an update on the frame rates now that I've played the games a bit more. The first game has little to no slowdown whatsoever. In fact it plays quite smoothly. The second one plays exactly like the original release, with some varying frame rate dips when there is a tremendous amount of on screen action. Nothing, however, has made the games unplayable at this point
A barracuda... Beaten by plastic... ontopic: If I was rich and had a ps3, goddamn I'd get this in a second, even thought I already have the SE for PS2.
guys; I can play a game at 20 fps and anything above doesn't make a difference to me; as long as I can enjoy a game. sooo yeah; stop complaining about fps. I can barely see a difference between 30 and 60; I have to strain my eyes to tell the difference.

When I'm actually playing a game and I go from 30fps to 40fps I can already notice the difference.
Apparently the 360 version is better framerate wise. Other than that, not much difference.
Apparently the 360 version is better framerate wise. Other than that, not much difference.
I like how the 360 version of an emulated PS2 game runs better than the PS3 version. I wish Konami just got Bluepoint Games to do the port.
