Eyedea was a lyrical genious, if you don't like rap, just read the lyrics and see if you can't relate.
Yes, another music thread.
The only person I can see this being relatable to is a pretentious emo kid
Still, not a bad song.
dont call me an introvert mate ye fokin faggo
dick
this is for edgy twelve year olds
only people in lmao pics will relate!
This was eyedea's most personal song, he eventually died of unknown causes, he lived to be in his late twenties, and this song made me realise how fucked up his head was. And i can relate to a lot of this shit, even though he only was 19 when he made this one, it still is one of his best. Because it's so personal. The all of facepunch part was a joke obviously, don't get your shit twisted up in a bundle because of that.

I should also add that this song helped me when i was manically depressed for a little while ago. It put things in perspective. you know.
You know what I can relate to most of this song from 55 sec in especially the chorus. Saying this is emo, it isn't, it's about social anxiety and shit. Guy's a good spitter too, has a sick flow
"as filthy as a centipede"
Truly lyrics that I can relate with
Saying "x band describes me" or "x music describes my life", is about as pleb as picking out a birthday card for your dad and thinking "Yeah that's something I'd say".

especially comparing the rest of fp to it
I'm an introvert but I don't feel like punching anyone or "putting a bullet in my head to leave the human race", as I am not an edgy hot topic-shopping emo.
But whatever floats your boat and tickles your scrote, OP.
I usually dislike most rap but this was really good honestly
I like it when people criticize something by insulting a group of people they think would like it. Saying something is for "edgy twelve year olds" or "pretentious emo kids" really shows that you've completed a thorough analysis, ultimately coming to a well-reasoned conclusion on the subject.

Lol didn't know I had to do an in depth analysis every time I wanted to insult something.

What's the point? Isn't the point of a forum to have a discussion? "sucks lol" doesn't exactly leave room for discussion.

So I'm not allowed to voice my opinion?
The sampled song is Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield (some of you guys probably knew that). It's a really great album and you should definitely listen to it:
So I'm not allowed to voice my opinion?
when did I say anything even remotely similar
if you want to "voice your opinion" then think it out and write something worthy of contribution
"sucks lol" is just shitposting

It's not the music or the genre or the artist himself but what he's saying in this specific song. I don't listen to rap and mcs and shit as much as alt rock stuff and dubstep, but the lyrics ring true for me. It sums up my mindset completely, specifically the verse at 2 mins and it's crazy how accurate it is. That said that part of me comes out more when I'm stoned, fuck knows, maybe it's what smoking a lot of weed over time does to your head. Basically you over-analyse everything, and become an observer to every event in your life rather than being a participant. If you have the capacity to learn a lot of shit, the big picture of the world is fucked. We're barely a stage up from monkeys and shit, and now we're launching each other into space, blowing each other up, we have globalized communication and data and shit, we got clothes, telly, factories, transport, culture, language. What really is all that shit? What is it doing to us? It's like knowing too much about life, society and all that just makes you believe that attempting to change anything is futile, it makes you lose any sense of purpose or importance. You feel like everyone around you as well as yourself is insane and we're being held together by fucking strings. The guy talks about pretending like everything's alright when inside your head it's all just chaotic, it ends up alienating you from everyone else. You get paranoid, start pushing people away and isolate yourself mentally, become socially anxious and feel that fucked over that you don't want to put effort into anything for the fear you might fail. Anything you need to do, just gets swept under the rug and ignored because you're too busy thinking about what'll happen if you don't, and convincing yourself that it's too much effort to go to to avoid whatever consequence. Entertainment if it's there is just a distraction from how fucked everything seems and how fucked your life might be. I'm gonna stop rambling now, I guess you get the picture. Sure, the song might mean fuck all to you because you've never been in this mindset, but to say that people relating to any song, any narrative or story is "pleb"? Fuck that, man. I barely even want to post this now, but screw it, here's a piece of my mind
Maybe for some people.
Introverts just want some peace and quiet on regular basis. It doesn't mean that they can't go out and socialize, they just don't like to do it as much. It also doesn't mean that they have a personality disorder.
some days i feel like this is the only band that understands me:

This explains my type of introversion personally-

that's a really good article, i feel that way too
I don't really like the song though I don't really like his voice and for some reason it doesn't really flow very well, it's missing something maybe internal rhyme or aliteration or something but i don't know

if the stereotype in OP was true about introversion
then all extraverts would be giant douchebags who have huge clich'e groups of equally giant douchebags
and we all know generally the opposite it true.
