I need to know what the fuck this looks like on the outside lmao. Also does this game support VR asking for a friend
They said they'd upload it to the Steam workshop at some point within the next few weeks. Also sadly no, it doesn't support VR. The game is HEAVILY CPU bottlenecked during normal play, and that bottleneck also affects the ride camera. It's pretty intensive on the GPU side as well.
I'm speechless
That wasn't a ride That was a fucking experience
That was... insane.
Jesus, I cant even imagine how much work this was.
I'm in awe at the level of detail this game, and this coaster's designer, are capable of. It made me feel the excitement I did when I watched the movie.
This gets me hyped for coasters of the future that will take advantage of vr once it gets into the extremely portable area, I know they already have VR coasters but they're obviously not major attractions.

Doesn't really make sense as a roller coaster. Most themed rides have an actual explanation for the coaster and it's riders as to what they are in the scenario. Some vehicle flying in from space and kind of moseying on through corridors is just silly. That Star Wars Planet Coaster one that got made a while back made sense because the idea was you were in an X-Wing. An Aliens ride would have to be more like the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man or the Jurassic Park ride where instead of a boat, you're in a modified APC or something. It's all about immersion with these rides and making you feel like you're actually there. Plus this is Alien so a roller coaster throwing your head around doesn't exactly let you soak in the atmosphere.

Good god that was fucking awesome.

Gotta use that imagination to fill in the gaps.

[editline]13th January 2018[/editline] On another note though holy shit
That is a damn epic coaster. I wasn't going to watch the whole 15 mins but it was hard to stop. xD

Seems you lack that quality.
Reminds me of The Mummy Ride at Universial Studios Florida with all of the pyrotechnics and the props throughout the ride. I'd imagine it would be impossible to replicate this, but if they could get it to the level of The Mummy Ride I'll be satisfied. Even through a Youtube video it was intense as hell!
People used to do stuff like his in RCT3 and I loved it, as crude as that game was in comparison. This rips.
People used to do stuff like his in RCT3 and I loved it, as crude as that game was in comparison. Since they're supporting the game via DLC, Frontier opted to not allow full modding of Planet Coaster so you're locked with the content they provide. They fact they pulled this off by building it all in game with no external models is what impresses me the most.

If this ride was real, you would probably have to make reservations for it like a few years ahead of time :v:
Wow. Just...wow.
so is this all in-game assets or were mods used?
so is this all in-game assets or were mods used?
All in-game assets, the editor is really flexible where you can create almost anything with just slapping together in-game assets
Though it might not be in the spirit of the game, wow, I can imagine this would be even more intense if they used some readily available SFM type xenomorph models as 'cheesy animatronics' (not that they didn't do an incredible job assembling them with what was available). I had no idea what any of this was going in but that was the best fifteen minutes I've spent all week.
