I once thought that too, I think it was before the oculus rift. Not sure. Even made a UDK mockup of it where I spent way too much time getting volumetric lights to work :v:
VR concerts sound terrible
All of this seems like pre-rendered fluff. Like i really doubt there's anything going on in the glasses.
VR concerts sound terrible
I think it sounds pretty fuckin sweet. That and VR music videos or documentaries.
VR concerts sound terrible
If I couldn't attend a real life concert, due to its location, timing, or pricing, I would love to have VR concerts.
The music was awful, but this is a concept I'm really interested in exploring, at least in a different way.
I guess that's one positive. But I always saw the appeal of concerts being like, yknow, being there.
If you're disabled or can't leave your house for reasons, this would be fuckin' rad for someone to experience.

IIRC stuff like this is one of the big reasons why Facebook bought Oculus - 360 degree live broadcasts of, say, sports events and concerts, are probably a lot more understandable to investors and the public than VR videogames (although those are thankfully still a priority).
VR concerts sound terrible
i'd rather have VR music visualizers
you know that thing people do when they draw in air awkwardly through their teeth, making a hissing noise as if to say ouch? that's how i reacted to this and the vice article backing it up
VR concerts sound terrible
why have you been to one i think not [editline]26th December 2015[/editline]
Image if Ubisoft would actually do something with this concept, and eventually at the very first VR concert the software like classic Ubisoft material would bug the fuck out [T]http://static2.gamespot.com/uploads/scale_super/1544/15443861/2732023-289650_screenshots_2014-11-11_00006.jpg[/t]
There are quite a few good teams in Ubisoft. The whole company doesn't work on double-ass-ins creed.
I think setting up a few stereoscopic cameras walking around that you could switch between online, streamed live to VR goggles (hell, even phones can do it now) that would be freaking awesome. You could get a direct audio feed from the concert and maybe also be able to switch crowd noise on and off. I could easily see that being an awesome service!
why have you been to one i think not
If you told me I could go to a concert but wouldn't be able to talk, dance or make out with people and I wouldn't even be able to feel the bass vibrate my bones or try and meet the artist at the merch booth afterward I would assume its not going to be all that fun.
