-Snip- Found the IGN article about it being on Win 10. Guess it's time to upgrade.
The one game that I was excited for since the first one is quickly swept away again when it became an Xbone exclusive. Damn it M$ RTS is my life! I want this on PC like I wanted the first one to be! Reminded me on how fun EndWar was on PS3.
It is on PC as well
I know it is probably going to be based around the new faction, but I really hope they included the flood somewhere like in Halo wars 1
Also Multiplayer Beta Trailer

Is the music used original work? (doubt)
If not anyone know what it is?
So Spirit of Fire finally dropped out of slipspace? Since Blur is still doing the cutscenes, I hope Stephen Rippy is still on the soundtrack.
It's also cool that they're using their own Halo Wars-ish aesthetic for all the designs instead of going full Halo 3 or 4/5.

Done by the creators of Star Wars: Empire at War? Now I'm a bit hyped.
Halo Wars 2 Definitive Edition includes Halo Wars 1. This includes a PC port
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is an enhanced version of the original Halo Wars that runs natively on Xbox One and Windows 10. Halo Wars: Definitive Edition includes improved graphics and all of the DLC created for the classic real-time strategy game.
Microsoft, why are you being so cool all of a sudden?
if they port 7 year old games, MAYBE THEY'LL PORT A 9 YEAR OLD GAME
What are those mech things?
So Spirit of Fire finally dropped out of slipspace?
Well the Spirit of Fire was never really in slipspace to begin with, because at the end of Halo Wars its slipspace drive was used to destroy the Shield world and thus stop the Covenant from being able to use the Forerunner's fleet. It was using impluse engines to get home after that. That's why it was "a long journey" and they put the crew into cryosleep. And they did eventually find the Spirit of Fire. One of the Halo comics that came out after 4 had it's plot based on the finding of the Spirit of Fire, so it's been found for a while now.

after the very well toned and atmospheric cinematic trailer seeing this assault of saturated colors makes me feel ill
I understand it's an RTS and things need to be quickly recognizable but damn can we tone it down a bit

Oh wow, I've missed out on a lot.
Is the beta on Win10 too?

They havent found the Spirit of Fire in the current Halo timeline? feel free to correct me if im wrong i just havent seen anything further than the following [sp] UNSC / ONI get attacked by hardware and weaponary belonging to SoF but they don't know where the stuff came from in fact it might never have been on the ship at all, and later in the same story Hood sends the Infinity out to a 'Hostile' part of space to an area where an SoF signal is, upon arriving at the location however Infinity Finds a Covenant ship and a cannon of sorts, turns out it was a Trap set by a traitor and SoF was never there, there's nothing else beyond that afaik[/sp]
What are those mech things?
The UNSC ones? Cyclops exosuits. Covenant ones? IDK.
how long before people start throwing a shit fit?
I mean its on the Ark so the flood is a given
I'm guessing the covenant remnant built stuff from scavenged tech?
Halo Wars was a fun game in earnest, a good attempt to get an RTS on a console and it played fine. Granted most maps were usually very restricted in terms of how precise you could play. UNSC units were ludicrously over powered like Sparrows,Gauss Warthogs and Grizzles. While the Covies got playable heros, they were no match for each UNSC's commander special unit, hell Scarabs got shredded by Grizziles, and Gauss hogs were the worst.

The land combat sucked hard though.
I miss old Halo's art direction so much. It slipped a bit in Reach but it was deff still there, but then in Halo 4 it just shit the bed and went in an entirely different direction. Happy to see it sort of come back.

Reaches art direction was pretty good, IMO a better Halo than what we have now.

You're probably right to be honest. I haven't been able to get my hands on the comics so I've never actually been able to read them.
As long as we have more great cinematics like in halo wars 1 im all for this
Holy hell I love this song, when can we have it?
You're probably right to be honest. I haven't been able to get my hands on the comics so I've never actually been able to read them.
It's an original song. I can tell because that guitar riff in the background is the fucking Halo Wars 1 theme.
Now that's a nice touch.

For reference, compare the music past 1:10 to this:

I thought it was done by Creative Assembly, which are known for the Totalwar games.
The land combat sucked hard though.
True. If you had air units during land combat you won because the AI has no counter to it except for AA guns which they never built and AT-AT's if you played as the Rebels. You could never lose a land battle at tech 5.
I thought it was done by Creative Assembly, which are known for the Totalwar games.
And Halo Wars II is in fact made by Creative Assembly. I had it all mixed up since this totally looks like Petroglyph Games' work. Whoops.
