Well... at least we've still got the book.
I sort of agree with the top comment:
I think everyone needs to stop judging films based on their relation to the books. The film is BASED on the book, they are not identical copies of it. I don't think a film adaptation has ever succeeded the books in terms of expectation from fans, so why is it still a surprise for everyone now? You* may as well head into it expecting it to be different. Go watch it with a neutral perspective, if anyone who hasn't read the book enjoys it, then as a film, it is sound. We'll see. Sorry for the essay!
But still, I have a serious problem with the speed of the zombies. I inherently don't like fast zombies since I think they're a bastardization of ghoulies and they were created for the MTV crowd, ie people with short attention spans, but they can be done well without relying on shock value. Still, I'll watch the movie with an open mind and if it has decent acting, decent script, and a decent soundtrack, well, it'll be a decent movie I guess.
I don't mind fast zombies if they are just infected humans with rage but these guys act like ants... anyway I'm a sucker for zombies so I'll probably see this.
Oh man that looked generic, but then again it was a preview of a trailer so I'll take it with a grain of salt for now, before I start judging it.
if the film is anything like the book then it will be terrible
Taking waves of zombies to a new level.

The problem here is that the zombies in World War Z were shamblers. I wouldn't mind much if they changed up the plot a bit, maybe switched a few scenes around from the book, because lets be honest there hasn't really been a decent book to novel adaption (rare exceptions exist, like Game of Thrones, yes it does deviate in quite a few places but it does it well). But to change the nature of the zombies entirely?
I mean, do people remember that one video that showed the zombies in this film? How spazzy they looked, how they just bit someone and then ran off? Didn't even bother to eat the fucker, just bite-and-run.

Not only do they not act like the zombies in the book, they don't even act like traditional undead zombies at all. They act like Olympic athletes on Red Bull.
But again, zombie behavior/speed aside, I can't complain too much if the movie overall is good. There's only so much I can nitpick :v It doesn't look promising but who knows, maybe it'll surprise us
Looks good. I fucking love zombies games and movies.
If there's a scene were thousands of blue-clad soldiers kill millions of zombies while The Trooper blasts at full theater volume i'll watch it just for that.
I want to see the battle of yonkers.
I want to see the battle of yonkers.
Watch as the Battle of Yonkers is Brad Pitt leading the United States Army to victory over the undead hordes, the world is saved thanks to the decisive battle, and now bradd pitt lived happily ever after with his wife, looking into the sunset
the end
cue me hurling my popcorn at the screen
Looks awful, and is nothing like WWZ, they really could have called this movie anything.
Brad Pitt vs Zombies.
Looks like shit, the only reason I liked the book is because of the realistic way the zombies were defeated. It is not a job a single man can do, Its a world wide epidemic...
0:04-0:06 are Israeli military uniforms, as well as 0:19
Part of world war Z takes place in Israel I guess?

Fluid zombies
Good portion of this was filmed in Glasgow's George Square then CG'd into Philly. Glasgow went mental.
We stopped charging tax for filming. I think the next Fast and Furious and Cloud Atlas are partially filmed here too.

Oh my god, it looks terrible!
How much longer will the movie/game industry be able to exploit the zombie/post apocalyptic genre until it gets old?
are they even following the same type of story, or are they just making another generic zombie movie that's in the universe of world war z?
i cant tell, honestly

From what I understand they're throwing out the entire idea of the book in favor of "he's a journalist who's racing against time to bring the zombie threat to international attention before it spread" or something and hops across a few countries.

"Hey, uh, world... there's, like, a huge ass literal flood of zombies here... I even have videos of them working together to climb a wall and eating people..."
"Pfff, probably just those wacky Occupy protesters again. Now, back to Snooki's tits!"
"Only one man can save the world".
Oh fuck off.

Here are few options, he has to kill the brain zombie that controls them all, kill their mothership which will turn them all off, kill their leader and the rest will surrender, spray them with selenium, or turn on a giant speaker and play Indian Love Call.
Whats happening at 0:13?

Zombie avalanche, isn't that how zombies travel?
this film pissed me off because they filmed a lot of it in glasgow. people went fucking nuts for brad pitt. and i'm like, shit guys i've got places to be but nooo i need to walk all the way round george fucking square because you're all climbing over each other to try and see over a fucking 7 foot fence! god damnit, this better be good. i don't like glasgow at the best of times, this film made it worse
I know you shouldn't completely compare the movie to the book... but that looks like it has nothing connected to the original other than the title.
I find it funny how some people are saying that we shouldn't compare the movie to the book. Of course we're going to compare it to the book, it's supposed to be fucking based on the book. They completely changed fucking everything except for the title to make it into a dumb ass action movie. I think it's perfectly reasonable to be goddamn pissed. Why didn't they just call it something else? Why did it have to be World War Z?
there goes

The CGI looks terrible.
