Jesus Christ.
That is all I have to say about this game. :v:
I know a bunch of games that pull this same shit too, I'm just glad that for the most part I either cheated and just went for the ending, or I just stopped playing them almost entirely.
Absolutely amazing voice acting, only a German-dubbed sitcom could top this.
This game was made by Satan.
It's just so oddly disappointing... This could've been a weird cult classic. The voice acting could've been overlooked, and maybe I've just been watching too much obscure FPS, but the environments were more than competent... Downright gorgeous in some places.
But then the combat turns out to not only be painfully boring, but downright satanic as well. A real shame.
the voice actor in the intro reminds me a lot of dandelion from witcher 1 :v:
Jesus what was up with level 3, did no one playtest that level at all?
Old games have some anti-piracy mechanisms where the game would get ridiculously difficult or break in some other way. Maybe his copy of the game has gone haywire and theres an anti-piracy where some of the enemies are just stupidly difficult? It wouldn't be the first time an anti-piracy thing has malfunctioned

It's still amazing he managed to beat it under these conditions. I would have given up on the second or third 100+ hit enemy probably.

That's what came to my mind as well, though it's extremely odd that an anti-piracy measure would just let up after one level. The only thing I can think of is that they released the game with the anti-piracy measures unfinished, and at some point a patch was made for some versions of the game, but not all of them.

Probably only had the anti-piracy for level 3. I don't think they expected anyone to actually slog through it.
Remove the stupid stamina system and make it so you could attack and move at the same time like a twin-stick shooter and at the very least the game would've been more interesting.
Instead not only is level 3 a goddamn nightmare but you're expected to dodge rapid fire spells and projectiles on a click to move system and fight back during the torrent somehow.
Slightly off-topic, I wonder when we're going to get a look at Ross's movie.
Is anyone here brave enough to download the free version and see if it's just as bad?
Though there is very little, any gameplay footage i find of this game (besides Ross') shows the player having a VASTLY easier time against the enemies. Like, the monsters that he was saying took 17 hits only took the player 3 hits.

I imagine a fan patch could fix some of this and make it fun. The official version could double as a "Hardcore Mode"

In the end he says the game was re-released under a different name and was vastly easier.
This game looks like it could actually be pretty fun (with the new version I mean), I might give it a shot some time
I cannot imagine how ross managed to play this for months, even if it was for only 20 minutes at I time. I absolutely would have given up after probably the third 100+ hit enemy, if that. Honestly, I would have been googling EVERYWHERE to see if there was something I missed, some missed mechanic or a patch that fixes these issues. That is just unnatural. There definitely had to be something wrong with Ross' copy.
Tbh though, I would have given up even if there weren't ridiculously strong monsters. These action RPGs always look the same to me. Despite what Ross said, the environments always look very bland and uninteresting. I would say the same about path of exile, or torchlight. There's just something about it that makes it all look very boring.
I find it very interesting how this appears to be a generic fantasy RPG, but then they just threw in Late-1800s era firearms for no reason apparently. :v:
