Half of the population have them, but it seems you're not allowed to print pictures of them, in a non-sexual way, and that's been causing outrage at the University of Sydney. Its student newspaper Honi Soit has been removed from distribution because the front cover showed images of student's vaginas. A selection of university students volunteered to have their vaginas photographed for the front cover in an effort to dispel ideas among women about what they look like. The newspaper's staff felt too many women compared themselves to porn stars and not to real women. The Feed's Jeannette Francis looks at the fallout from the controversy.
its funny because they put a penis on the cover a few years ago and nobody gave a shit
stunt to get attention
its funny because they put a penis on the cover a few years ago and nobody gave a shit
Just one?
stupid feminists. no one gives a shit if you have a vagina.
I find stuff like this so dumb. They're being controversial for the sake of it, and then they're unhappy when people get offended? What did they expect? They're just trying to get a rise out of people, if no one responded they would probably find an issue with that too.

The only thing I would be concerned about would be young children (12 or younger) seeing these covers.

Which, as we all know, only comes to fruition after 14 years of age.
Why? Is it because 12 year olds haven't grown their first vagina yet? Which, as we all know, only comes to fruition after 14 years of age.
No it's because most 12 year olds have been introduced into Sex Education.
same shit would happen if they printed a penis on it.
same shit would happen if they printed a penis on it.
It would get a WAY WORSE reaction if they printed 20 pictures of hairy dicks on it.
Penises are more accepted in society because it is easier to draw a cartoon dick than a pussy. Flawelss logic
Penises are more accepted in society because it is easier to draw a cartoon dick than a pussy. Flawelss logic
(()) didnt even take me 3 seconds and i wasn't even drawing with a pen, just using the most creativity-restricting drawing tool ever; the keyboard
I think this is good. Where do guys see vaginas 90% of the time? Porn! We all were 15 once, and what did we like the most? PORN! Pornstars all have those "perfect" vaginas, where as real vaginas come in all shapes and sizes, hairy, trimmed, large lips and small lips. [editline]10th February 2014[/editline] Although i kind of think its a moot point since this in college.

I think the fact it is controversial is the problem here, it's a vagina. If it was a neatly cut vagina that looks appealing it may not have recieved the same reaction, that is unknown though, [editline]10th February 2014[/editline]
Oh yeah and all dicks are circumsized, at least 8 inches, don't curve and hairless.
What is your point here? [editline]well[/editline] zeebo, instead of rating me dumb how about you answer my question?
stupid feminists. no one gives a shit if you have a vagina.

I find stuff like this so dumb.
No it's because most 12 year olds have been introduced into Sex Education.
So what? They can still learn what a vagina looks like without knowing shit about sex. What kind of child doesn't know that women have vaginas anyway?
What is your point here?
The statement they're making is useless. I think that the majority of people know that vaginas (or dicks) don't usually look like what they do in porn. In my opinion these issues involving with how you're supposed to look and what is expected by society are being blown up way too big by feminists.

In my opinion these issues involving with how you're supposed to look and what is expected by society are being blown up way too big by feminists.
Well the point is that you may or may not acknowledge the variety of vaginas that exist, but standards and expectations are still unreasonable, hence why feminism exists in the first place. It is not blown out of proportion and that kind of thinking is another reason why these movements exist in the first place. And this is the reason an Australian magazine decided to be upfront and brutal about the truth of vaginas in the public eye. http://www.mamamia.com.au/news/why-australian-law-demands-all-vaginas-be-digitally-altered-nsfw/ The satement they put forward is not useless and you would be surprised by what a lot of people think and expect.
Ok well I see if they have a law to fucking photoshop vaginas then that might be a problem. But where I am from I don't see these kind of problems. That's why this seemed pretty fucking ridicolous.

Woman prints photos of her vagina on a newspaper front cover: So strong, so liberating, so progressive Man watches porn with woman in it: MISOGYNIST OBJECTIFYING PIG
it's all middle class angst up in here lol, who gives a shit about things like this like really, as if problems like this even mattered, cool, someone's trying to raise vagina awareness, move on
Woman prints photos of her vagina on a newspaper front cover: So strong, so liberating, so progressive Man watches porn with woman in it: MISOGYNIST OBJECTIFYING PIG
do you intentionally try to sound dumb or does it just occur naturally
After watching this video all I can conclude on is that the girl in the red pants has a hell of an ass and I'd like to see HER vagina.
Some of you need to see this, before you go mindlessly calling these people over-dramatic.
After watching this video all I can conclude on is that the girl in the red pants has a hell of an ass and I'd like to see HER vagina.
don't dip your stick in a wasps nest man I don't get why putting a bunch of vaginas on a paper for people to see is offending. If I saw a piece of paper covered with hairy, big labia, small labia, whatever vaginas. I wouldn't be phased, but I'd be a little bit.. Confused, as to whom would print this off and spread it so easily.
I don't get why putting a bunch of vaginas on a paper for people to see is offending.
because, despite the fact that we are living in the 21st century, people are still big babies when it comes to genitalia
Tbh this cover looks pretty gross, so yeah I'm happy it got censored. And it would be as gross with penises. I don't know about you guys but I don't want to look at pubes and stuff like that while I'm reading the newspaper.
here's one of them now
