What's with the phrase "take the red pill". They actually give up on trying to fix themselves so they would rather live in a fantasy land where every women is a sex slave, just as an excuse to be lazy about taking care of themselves and learning better social skills?

Not a bad thing really, it initially was more of a way of trying to game life if you will, improve your station in life by acknowledging things objectively and then looking at how best to tackle them with knowledge gained from science, sociology and psychology etc. Somehow it ended up as just a place for losers to whinge about how the world has done them hard or some shit. Thats why most of the prominent "red pill" bloggers closed up shop and what you have left is MRA dudes and dudes who somehow bled off from PUA forums and just decided to spend days whining on a internet forum instead of improving themselves.

This is the first time I've heard of it being used in association with MRAs but it doesn't surprise me. I've found it an interesting tactic when used by them, heavy use of spin and some half-truths to frame something which may be a bit different from the common belief as the polar opposite. Because of the cognitive dissonance it causes having these odd new ideas, people often just drop everything and take on this new idea rather than try to reconcile things with a bit more research. It certainly shocks you into a new perspective, but it's no more an objective perspective than the previous one and usually it's far more prone to conspiracies.

It's not objective at all, its just some dumb shit he *wants* to believe. Which ironically is contrary to what the phrase "red pill" actually means. Whereas older red pill would've been something like: Okay, woman on average seem to be more attracted to bad boy types, why? Let's dissect this <x> <y> <z> argument etc. But yeah I can see why other communities have adopted the phrase too, you don't have to point out the flaws in someones argument if you just stick your fingers in your ears and tell them they are still living in a fantasy world.
