cars go fast
Stockholm Open is drag racing heaven basically. These cars are definitely pushing some hard power as well, more than your average street race lmao. Also that suicide evo is fucking insane as is its driver. The cop thing was p bad tho, fun but p bad. and yeah i know street racing is illegal and can kill we know.
It begins with loud and obnoxius kids playing with cars, then they grow up and evolve into "EPA raggare" untill finally they become what we'd like to call "rallylödder".
maybe I should move to sweden after all, seems like a more fun car scene than denmark lol.
-snip-
White trash. Rent a fucking airstrip from one of our former flight regiments instead of closing an entire highway.

Can you even rent one? This street race has been going on since '82, I'm sure that at some point, they have considered the idea.
Yes, out of all the twenty or so fight regiments we had during the Cold War only three remain active today. There's tons of empty property which can be rented for events and such.
But the thing is, these are swedish rednecks and only think as far as their sweat-ridden stinking ballcaps go.
I hope that suicide evo cunt crashes his car, endangering other drivers like that

That's what they did, until the enviormentalists in Stockholm shut down both old airstrips that were used for legal drag racing, but they try to race at Malmby and Kjula; Tierp in Uppland has legal drag racing though.

There's quite a lot of people racing on the abandoned airstrips cluttering the forests where I live

Running red lights, driving on the wrong side of the road, all but ramming people off the road, doing 140kph in residential areas, running from the police, and in one shot he has his phone in one hand as he's racing down the highway.
Probably also driving without plates.
He's a cunt, alright.

i feel like you can't just wipe away the fact that it's incredibly illegal and incredibly dangerous and is in general a bad move for all involved. getting hyped over cars can be done in a safer way, and getting hyped over cars going fast can be done in a safer way (i'm not even talking legalities, you could go and plop on some abandoned but paved land that nobody really cares to deal with vs. public roads. it's not legal but hey i'll take the lesser of two evils.) so when the options are available and they choose not to take them, I feel like I'm a bit justified in saying "those guys are kinda shitty."

I didn't want to get dumbed to hell and back for crap I dont really feel comfortable with (illegal street racing) as I'm against it myself. Those guys are kinda really shitty anyway.

Ah, I remember that thread. Derailed by the Morality Police -- hell, even a mod derailed that thread even more.
Let it be known that I, like RobYe here, don't approve street racing. We're well aware of its dangers and its consequences, just like some of the people involved in the video.
So most folks here don't have to *remind* us that this is bad, and it's illegal.
Now that we've put that out of the way, I'd like to add that after reading a bit more about why aren't they racing on some old airstrip like civilized people, it's because neighbors leaving in the surroundings constantly complain about the noise, and they end up banning them from renting the airstrip.
So they basically have *nowhere* else to run, but in some segment of a deserted freeway, in the middle of the night.
Also, not sure if there are any actual, legit racetracks in Sweden - otherwise they'd just use the main straight for 1/8th mile drag racing (300m), but there isn't.
It kinda sucks being into cars in Sweden, with nowhere to open them up.

All street racers are absolutely irredeemable degenerates who endanger innocent citizens solely for their own perverse pleasure. There is zero justification for acting like a fucking moron while on public roads like they do.
We get it. It's dangerous. Moving on.

Ah, didn't know those existed. I stand corrected, then.
Guess they'll just have to look into the complaints about noise levels, now. But even then, street racing is practically the staple of the Stockholm Open.
That Kadett tho, holy shit how high was it revving on the flybys?
this shit is cool as fuck and the corvette was gnarly as fuck holy crap i dont even like corvettes and i gotta admit that one was badass
