It's like Bungie is going down a list of complaints and fixing them one by one while doubling the amount of content. Holy shit. I can't wait to see what Destiny becomes.
Hopefully it's up to everyone's satisfaction in time for [sp]the PC release[/sp]
I know Destiny is the cool new thing to hate on, but they've addressed almost every complaint against the game at launch, meaning it's the game that it was supposed to be and the game people were hyped for. Isn't that a good thing?
The beta finally ends! But seriously, I'm actually pretty excited now.

It's unfortunate it took a year for the game to become what I thought it would be in the first place, but there's 8 more years after this, and according to the contract they're dropping last gen support with Destiny 2 early next year so that'll definitely influence the game's core design.
Good riddance on dropping last gen, its honestly just holding the game back.

I just hope Activision doesn't change the contract and tell them "you need to release a current generation title on last generation hardware that is ten years old because of the install base"
Hopefully Fallout 4 being current (next) gen only convinces them it's time to move on.
There's something hilarious about this video since I don't know anything about destiny. Just the complete lack of context to all these terms. Not shittalking the game or anything.
Yeah this video makes little sense if you don't already play Destiny.

Honestly, he speaks too fast and glances over the things to the point where I don't fully understand everything myself.
Having played Destiny on and off since launch including both expansions since my dad pre-ordered the game I understand the points he's bringing up, but he seems to rush through his explanations to the point where I'm not quite sure what he tried to say with some of them.
Can't honestly say this seems to fix Destiny's glaring gameplay problems though, and it's still just putting everything on the same fucking planets, and they're not adding much new content to the game. More numbers (gear) and fixing quality of life things is nice and all, but it doesn't change how the game plays out.

ur just mad i get to play it without paying a monthly fee lol
jk i stopped playing it a month after release
I got Destiny as part of a bundle with my PS4 (plus Last of Us remastered, the main reason I got that specific bundle) The controls are amazing, the shooting feels great, and the art style is top notch, but ultimately the story didn't capture me at all and I didn't feel like there was any context to my actions so I stopped playing. I killed the final boss, got a cutscene, ended up back at the hub and didn't really feel like I'd accomplished anything at all
Thinking about it, didn't they hide away most of the story in the expansions? Makes me question whether it's actually worth spending money on something like that rather than just buying an entire other game, or even the base game to begin with.
If it ever comes to PC with all the DLC included, then despite what I said I'd probably buy it haha. Maybe then it would feel like a complete experience
There is a pc release?
Yeah this video makes little sense if you don't already play Destiny.
All you need to know is that the game is finally to the point where we thought it would be at launch (the game that hyped everyone up, so it's good now)

Bungie is hiring PC compatibility testers and stuff.
I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. Unfortunately destiny needs a "Diablo 3 2.0" style update to really fix it and it doesn't look like Taken King will really be that. It makes some big steps in the right direction but so far a lot of the fixes are things that only the most hardcore Destiny playing audience could appreciate fully (and these are people who already have forgiven tons of Destiny's faults in the first place).
It doesn't help that Taken King is $40 like Reaper of Souls for diablo was, but doesn't have nearly the same depth of fixes and content that RoS did. And I still thought RoS was a stretch to buy at $40 as a casual Diablo 3 player until I got it on sale.
This video is for extreme fans. Most of these changes are small quality of life changes that don't mean anything for the average player.
Imo the reasons to actually get excited are things like the revised story, making things much less repetitive/grindy, and real endgame content.
Isn't Destiny destined for a PC release?

Revised story? I thought they were just re-doing dinklage's lines with nolan north

It's destined for the recycle bin.
Interesting thing is if they actually release Destiny on the PC at this point now where its actually a full game for a decent price it could potentially do well.

They've went back and added in game lore elements while the new content has a focus on story and characters.

Honestly the only problem most people had with the game was a lack of content, and this expansion doubles that while supporting multiple enemy placement layouts that can be mixed/matched upon each play so even if you're going back to some random mission, you don't know what you're in for.
I just hope Destiny 2 focuses on the open world where the design revolved entirely on the lowest common denominator (last generation console hardware).

Assuming year 2 is similar to year 1, there will be another two expansions in between now and Destiny 2 (where the PC will likely launch) so there's going to be plenty more content and another year to balance everything included in the base package.

Did they fix the writing, voice acting, and total lack of in-game worldbuilding?
This game is literally Warframe.

Yes

The main story and such still sucks but the taken king is apparently focused on the actual story, as they have been quoted themselves in saying "This one will actually have a story". So we'll have to see when it releases. I think the voice acting was fine and it was the script that was horrible, but yeah they replaced dinklebot with Nolan, so probably yeah. And as for world building, they've introduced quests with the soul purpose of developing the world of destiny, and not just limiting them to grimmore cards.
Ofcourse, all this can still fall flat on its face, so I'm waiting till it's released to see if their goals have been met.
thought disney was making a third lion king
Never played Destiny, but glad to see they're not adopting the Borderlands 2 strategy of "game is perfect, let's just add more places to kill things and hear mediocre jokes"
Wow, 26 dumbs just because Destiny. Most of these changes are great!
This game is literally Warframe.
Except not as good.
Wow, 26 dumbs just because Destiny. Most of these changes are great!
Most of these changes aren't worth getting excited for and should have been in the game from day 1.
Except not as good.
And knowing Warframe, that's really saying something.

So now it's the game people were hyped about, and it has double the content. I don't see why that's disappointing. Now that it's up to the standards people had in their minds back when it was first shown at E3 2013, they have 8 more years to add content including DLC, standalone expansions and full on sequels that will add PC support and toss out the old consoles ridding the game of any limitations it may of had.
