Nepeta cataria is mostly used as a recreational substance for pet cats' enjoyment. Roughly 50% of cats will be affected by the plant, whether it is growing in the wild or harvested and dried. Approximately two hours after an exposure, the feline will be sensitive to another dose. The common behaviors that are observed are: rubbing on the plant, rolling on the ground, drooling, sleepiness, anxiety, or consuming much of the plant. The plant terpenoid nepetalactone is the main chemical constituent of the essential oil of Nepeta cataria and acts as a feline attractant. This chemical enters the feline's nose, and produces effects on the cat.

Awesome, they get rabies.
lol at that scene, I've never seen a cat drooling like that in my whole life :v:
That's fucking weird to watch a bunch of OD'ing cats foam, and roll about.
lol at that scene, I've never seen a cat drooling like that in my whole life :v:
My cat was drooling like that after I came home from a three week long trip. I was scratching her back while she drooled all over my t-shirt.
Heh. I love it when my cats chase my catnip mouse. They get so high
How come it's not against the law for fucking cats to be high? :colbert:

I misplaced my cat's catnip, I need to do some testing.
New cat toy.
My cat's have never foamed at the mouth like that under the influence of cat nip. :v: They generally do the whole rolling around and gripping the 'pillow' that holds the catnip though. Cat's get off so lucky. :frown:
Banned in australia.
This video encouraged me to give my cat a bunch of chocolate catnip cubes. :3:
So my cat was high as a motherfucker yesterday. My mom got some catnip spray and put a lot of it on some scratch post and my cat was all over it.
This video encouraged me to give my cat a bunch of chocolate catnip cubes. :3:
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
My cat always hated catnip.
Oh so that's what they call it. Chasing the imaginary mouse.
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
A little chocolate does no harm. If they ingest large chunks of chocolate then the symptoms get worse. They range from vomiting to diarrhea and if they eat a lot they can die from it.
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
Chocolate is toxic to people too, our bodies can tolerate larger quantities though.
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
no that's dogs
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
Are you sure? I don't think they'd sell these things if they were lethal to cats. I hope not. :ohdear:
Chocolate is toxic to cats.
No, it's not.
This video is too cute. Fucking cats, why must you be so cute :3:

Am I the only one who don't find that cute but creepily strange ? I mean, a cat is not supposed to drool so much, fight for a plant, or go ape shit. [editline]28th December 2010[/editline] Oh wait they do that even without catnip, nevermind.
