Oh god, in JROTC this year and last, we had some of those things. The chocolate mint poundcake literally absorbs all liquid from your body. The chili, cheesecreamstuff, and pumpkin spice cake were in mine last time. They actually tasted fine.
MRES are fucking great. I used to buy them at the army surplus store but now they are about 10$ each. The jalpeno cheese is fucking awesome. You get all kinds of sweets too, candy, poundcake, MnMs, snickers.
Make's me wanna try them, I know you can buy them online, but do they taste the same and all?

It was in a digital camo wrapper with the words, first assault or something like that on it.
That guy shat a goddamn brick factory when he got home. My brother brought home a couple of mre's when he was in boot camp for the Marines and I didn't shit till about a week later.
Was helping my friend clean out a house that was destroyed by a hurricane. We found an old bomb shelter that had a dozen MRE's on it. Most delicious meat-pasta-something I've ever had actually.
:byodood:
They don't have a shelf life I don't think. ones I ate were from the 80's or 90's. They're vacuum sealed and dehydrated, what's the worse that could happen?
They can last for years and years. Although im not sure i would eat them from 80's.
If you think that's bad, here is something worse. 40 YEAR OLD MRE How that guy can still eat it is fucking incredible.
Very cool vid, place on rock or something
http://www.olive-drab.com/od_rations_mre_menus.php Most of them look delicious.
I ate some MRE's from Vietnam era. Everything was good except for the chocolates.
Apparently there's biscuits that your are given, Ones flavoured chocolate and ones vanilla. Chocolate makes it so you dont poop for 3-5 days and Vanilla makes you violently shit after 10 minutes. I heard from a mate of mine they told him that chocolate was the laxative. Poop pranks ensued :V

OH NO BAD! VERY GOOD" haha :v:

Rations aren't that bad. I have some.
What is this from? Looks like a Documentary about the new Afghan Army which I definitely want to see.
now I HAVE to try them. the local army surplus doesn't have them, but I bet the ones in San Fransisco do. I'll have to arrange a day to ride the train up there.
To anyone eating any MRE's of any kind, don't eat these very often, you you will gain weight very fucking fast. most of these are high protein, high calorie food nukes to kick a hungry soldier into action for a few days. and by high calorie, just the main course is several thousand calories.
I have a friend who's father has a friend who's ex-military. You can't buy real MRE's unless you're in, or ex-military. You can buy imitation ones that are practically the same thing though. I personally think they're delicious.
Yeah, they're technically illegal but you can still get a hold of them. You can buy and sell them, bring them on Airplanes, sell them overseas it doesn't really matter to them although even if it is 'illegal' They have better things to worry about than some eBay'er in New Zealand eating their space-meals. They say "NOT FOR SALE" on them with some warning about the US Government and yadda yadda.
A friend of mine had a British MRE whilst camping. It had a Yorkie bar in it, so he ate that, and then it gave him diarrhoea so he had to shit on a hill.
My friend brought some over and they didn't taste half bad. It was amazing how they got ho tby just adding water.
MRE's look like wet cat-food in all aspects but, as the video states the looks are deceiving.
That's some high tech stuff right there. Nothing like the crap I got. I still have some potato mash powder and a can of extremely disgusting leverpostej (liver paté.) Best part of the Danish ration was definitely the fruit porridge, especially the strawberry one. Typical dinner ration:
http://www.olive-drab.com/od_rations_mre_menus.php Most of them look delicious.
My mouth literally watered looking at those. Meat loaf w/ gravy Mashed potato Vanilla wafer cookie Jelly Crackers Cocoa beverage powder I'd eat that in a heartbeat.
