Just let this thing die already Sony, for everyone's sake.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/BtyjQsE.png[/t] lmao what a fucking schmuck
wow, denying factual proof of a failure, AND not researching what a success of a budget of this magnitude would be. incredible journalism.
wow, denying factual proof of a failure, AND not researching what a success of a budget of this magnitude would be. incredible journalism.
And instantly calling male fans that criticised the film sexist. It's the trifecta of "I should be fucking fired and not work in journalism again for this garbage"
this movie is the equivalent to replacing Rosie the Riveter with a dude kind of
:snip:
Am I a sexist for refusing to watch this film?
you disgust me
wow, denying factual proof of a failure, AND not researching what a success of a budget of this magnitude would be. incredible journalism.
It is already on the Wikipedia's "List of box office bombs" with estimated $70+ million loss: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_box_office_bombs
Can you feel ze schadenfreude?
Am I a sexist for refusing to watch this film?
You're a sexist misogynistic shitlord. But it's ok buddy, I'm right there with ya.
Am I a sexist for refusing to watch this film?
Apparently, if you have rock-bottom expectations, like you think the film is gonna be totally 100% sjw cringefest, it might be a pleasant surprise. But yeah I'm not watching that shit either :v:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/BtyjQsE.png[/t] lmao what a fucking schmuck
Maybe not a financial flop, but it's still a financial disappointment.
Maybe not a financial flop, but it's still a financial disappointment.
MAking $158 million at the box office in a $144 million budget is a flop financially (also known as a bomb). You have to keep in mind that box office numbers don't take the cinema's cut into account, nor does the figure account for the marketing budget. Ghostbusters flopped no matter how hard they try to twist it.

Besides which all the talk about the "marketing budget" are surely horseshit. Sony made bank because every idiot on the internet talked about the film non-stop.

"According to Lucasfilm, Return of the Jedi, despite having earned $475 million at the box office against a budget of $32.5 million, "has never gone into profit"" Note that it mentions its budget was 32 million, the hollywood accounting comes after, when they try to reduce the amount of taxes they have to pay.

Maybe even more so that we thought?

We'll have to wait on the financial statements to see though.
