• How does gaining weight work?

Is gaining weight... 1 the amount of calories your body needs for daily activies, PLUS the 3500 that it takes to gain one pound, or 2is it just the 3500 pounds. Ex. 1. 2000 calories are eaten and used then 3500 are consumed. 2. I eat 3500 calories and I gain 1 pound. Thanks for help
Your examples didn't really make sense to me; however here is how it works: your body (VERY)basically runs on glucose. The glucose obviously is broken down from the food you eat. The excess glucose in your bloodstream which is not used up by your body during respiration is temporarily stored as glycogen. If you do NOT use up this energy then your body will store it as fat. Ofcourse all of that was excluding proteins, vitamins and minerals etc. Tl;dr If you don't burn it off (including maintenance) then it will eventually be stored as fat. That does not include gaining muscle mass. Also: eaten and consumed? Don't they mean the same thing...? Or is that just me?
If I eat 3500 calories in one day, will I gain a pound if I naturally burn off 2000 from regular activities such as walking around.
