It looks.. interesting. The story won't be anything remarkable, and while the visual effects are for the most part impressive, there are small detail issues that really destroy the 'sell' on most shots

Eh, from what I can tell, it's like the director went "Hurr, let's reference as much as humanly possible without an actual connection!" I.E. Referencing Black Mesa without any real connection to Half-Life. The Dharma vans etc.

What. Did you even watch it? There was clearly combine masks+vortiguant. And the youtube description says "half life"
Of course, but everything else looks like it has no relevance to anything Half-Life related, such as the weird technology. It's like if I took Half-Life characters and then put them in a completely unrelated story.
