It's really cool that Joji's music career is taking off, and some of his shit is very good.

This is pretty meh, honestly. His earlier work was a lot more ambient/chill in tone. This seems out-of-place, especially with these mediocre rappers on top of it.

Sounds like any other "trap" tune out there to me. Gotta agree with you here, Joji seems a little outta place. Didn't like this one bit, but seemed to like the Pink Prophecy mix.

I wouldn't look too into it, he just got paid to do a hook for them. I doubt this means anything for the future of his music.
He wants to pursue a music career and this probably seemed like an appealing gig, I'm not entirely sure though.
I also think he's looking for a bit more separation from his online presence with this, like when Daniel Radcliffe did that play where he was naked with a horse.
Sorry but, even by standards of Mano/Canto rap this is trash.
