I honestly don't see how this is a bad thing. It's made specifically for kids. No 3d because if your younger the 3d effect can supposedly give you vision problems, it doesn't clamshell because kids were breaking the hinges. Plus it's cheaper for parents who are getting it, just so their kid can play pokemon.
All I saw when the 3ds came out was fan boys raging for the first month. Then, about 3 months later, they all had one. Now, all I see with the 2ds is the same thing. Personally, I really don't like it. [B]EDIT:[/B] Great video, by the way.

I waited two years until I got an XL. This is more about the design than cost and games, which doesn't matter to us anyway since it isn't marketed towards older gamers.

Hingeless design is the best thing to do in this case.
Was expecting Nintendo 2DS Axe, was disappointed.
I can say from experience that doing any kind of repair that involves the hinges in any way (or the upper screen, speakers, mic) on any DS is a nightmare
