Basically a really shitty Be Kind Rewind rip-off,

No, Doug. Please no.
Welp there goes all my respect for Doug :c
Is this it? I thought that it would be better then NC, it's fucking awful. Dammit Doug you can do better.
I couldn't watch the entire first part. It's too painful. YOU. CAN. NOT. ACT.
Fuck if you have to say "Er ah" before every line you do as another character you've FAILED AS AN ACTOR OR ARE JEFF GOLDBLUM
It's like the Asylums version of "Be Kind, Rewind", with shitty acting, special effects and all.
The asylum has a better budget.
Does he outsource writing to like a middle school.
I lost hope at the Casper thing. If you're gonna start a new show, don't bring in your old fucking gags. Especially not the bad ones.
That was so fucking boring
Even the Asylum goes out on fucking location.
Hey look all of our opinions based on the preview in that thread were 100% correct!
How depressing.
oh god why
An in-depth look at why this is shit:
1. Everything is green screen. It's supposed to be used sparingly to get shots and scenes you can't get otherwise. Like when Half in the Bag did The Avengers in the movie theater.
2. No actors with talent.
3. Please god get better effects.

Although the first two are definitely the bread and butter. I could forgive the green screen if they could handle it as actors, like the reports on the Daily Show are handled, but jesus. I could also forgive bad acting if they hammed it up and put effort into it and showed they cared by actually filming on location, but they don't do that either.
This is godawful and I have lost all remaining shreds of respect I had for Doug Walker.
This and his commentaries really go to show he has no idea what makes a good joke, he's said many times he thought jokes that went over badly were good and vice versa.
I have a feeling he just sees all the praise in the comment sections of his videos and assumes they represent the opinions of most viewers. That kind of community is seriously a toxic environment in which to try and improve as a filmmaker.

I don't really think the effects or acting were supposed to be top notch (I even suspect they were supposed to be the opposite!).
Now I'm not saying I like the way this is all turning out or defending Doug, but the point flew right over your head. This isn't turning out good so far, but it's not because of the acting or special effects, mang.

Oh my GOD yes, the comments on that guy are the fucking worst, they give insane praise to everyone there despite only maybe 4 or 5 reviewers actually being enjoyable.

No, the point definitely didn't fly over my head. This is just lazy production.
It's just really unfunny and not original.
Bad idea, and badly executed as well.
No, I can't watch any more than a few minutes of this trash.
...and people somehow like this.
Trying too hard to be like the Office.

That was the first thing I thought. Way too mockumentary for me.
Everything is Greenscreen!
There was only a few 3D shots in the entire thing, and they were pretty much just the white walls of the studio.
This is sleep-inducing kind of bad, the worst kind.
It's 23 minutes of worn out gags and shitty parodies.
I want really badly to like this. I did laugh at some parts, I mean it's not the worst thing ever. It's Doug's style to be blunt and in your face with his jokes and characters, and this time he seems to have turned it onto himself with how self-aware the whole thing is. Sometimes it's humorous, but most times it just seems like they're trying really hard. The terrible acting is supposed to be the point, but as a punchline it ends up being more of a deterrent for me, making it almost cringe-worthy at times.
I don't love it, but I don't hate it... I'll definitely give it another shot, and I hope they are able to maybe dial down the terrible acting that's JUST terrible acting. It can't be a go-to punchline...

I don't think people really GET it yet, but hopefully they will. Most people kinda missed the point, it's not supposed to be about the special effects and such, it's supposed to be following the story of these characters they created and their humble quest to get filthy rich beyond their wildest dreams!
I only watched few minutes and I'm sad my fears came true. Not to mention I realized I have a very different opinion on some of his Bum-not-Bum reviews.
Such a mighty giant falls off his step-ladder of comedy and lands on an even smaller one.
