Oh, another action figure one. Now it's at least semi-pertinent to explain the "LED-in-chest" knockoffs that pop up occasionally which baffle him.
Okay, so back in the mists of time, knockoff figures were quite common. The market was flooded with them. So, like real toy companies, they need something to make them stand out on the store shelves; a "gimmick", if you will. But said gimmick also needed to be cheap. So around the time Superman became a thing, they started doing light-up eyes by drilling holes and fitting two LEDs. This caught on and became common practice for a while, and some companies just went "fuck it" and put just one in the chest instead to shave costs in half. Even though it made no sense.
