I know it's more focused on League but his advice can be applied to a lot of things like CS:GO or even giving speeches if you take his advice the right way.
People get anxious over this? It's just a game, play for fun?

Some games, ranked or not, can be pretty heated at times. And since not everyone is the same certain people can get stressed over something that may seem minor to other people, especially for people who play MOBAs but also happens with other games which have any form of competition.
holy crap every single bit of me applies to me so much, not just in counter-strike but in competitive paintball as-well.

high anxiety levels run in my family, so when playing a very competitive game like dota/cs:go i get anxiety attacks because everyone is watching me and I don't want to fuck up. same goes for search and destroy in any COD game.

being the last one alive on the team
I can feel the abusive messages being typed from the spectators

I have seen people literally go mental on a game because they are devastated by not doing well. With how often I have seen it, I sometimes just call it another feature of CSGO... Having the comfort your teammates in the middle of a match and calm them down like they just got out of shellshock. :v:

It's not that easy to explain to someone who hasn't felt it before, but I do when I play Dota 2.
I have invested multiple thousands of hours into Dota over the past few years and have moved to the highest skill tier of matchmaking.
The best way that I can describe the anxiety of playing in a ranked setting for me is the fear that, if I play poorly, all the time I've invested trying to get better has gone to waste.
There might be nothing tangible or life-changing on the line when you win or lose, but the emotional toll is real, especially if you're a person who's easily prone to stress.

Especially when it's 1v1 and winner wins the game
I play LoL all the time in ranked, I still don't see how people can get so stressed over something that has no real consequences other than losing LP and maybe losing a rank which you can work back?
You do bad, you lose a game, big deal. Everyone loses games, whether or not it is your fault.
Honestly, the people who get stressed over this, how the hell do they function in the real world? what

I finally worked up the courage to play and man, Skullgirls ranked gets me so stressed. It's a lot easier to play MOBAs ranked for me, because if you lose, you're not the only reason you lost, four other people also tried their best but were not able to overcome the enemy and lost with you. And with multiple enemy players there's not just one person to have a grudge against.
In Skullgirls when you lose, it's just you, you're entirely to blame, and their is just one enemy player, menacing you. It's such a personal defeat.
