Dawwww, it thinks it's people. :3
Wow. My freshman year in college I had to write a paper about AI and robotics, and one of the parts talked about how we were still years away from creating a robot with working humanoid legs. It appears that day is here.

Petman walks with authority He will lead the world one day
Obligatory.
I honestly couldn't watch the video without that song in the back of my head.
I wonder what would happen if they tried to run a motion-capture animation through it? Would it look really realistic or would the robot lose it's balance?
Obligatory.
The apocalypse can't even handle him.
Obligatory.
for some reason I like it so much better with that non-head
Swaggertron rollin' out.
for some reason I like it so much better with that non-head
RED ALERT! RED ALERT! Sexbot walkin' through.
Wow. That robot has progressed quite fast. I honestly never thought we would see true bipedal humanoid robots for years to come yet. Time to step up your game Asimo. Even though PETMAN and Asimo fill different roles, I don't imagine it would be hard to make a smart version of Petman and give it a better skin. [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] Also it reminds me of C3P0
That's the most confident walk I have ever seen anyone or anything perform. [editline]6th April 2013[/editline] This does not bode good for out planet. REPENT YOUR SINS THE END IS NIGH.
I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle.
PETMAN confirmed for STALKER.
are those wires holding it up, or are they just there in case he falls over or something? because if its the former i'm not all that impressed
are those wires holding it up, or are they just there in case he falls over or something? because if its the former i'm not all that impressed
Probably the latter. You can see that they have a little bit of slack when it moves around. I'd imagine they lock after a certain point sort of like a seat belt, so that it doesn't smash against the treadmill if it falls.

They probably supply power/protection in case of a malfunction.

Holy shit, Petman looks terrifying with clothing [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] What was once a robot with the world's most godly strut is now a thing of nightmares :(
Was waiting for it to start doing the YMCA
there's something really really creepy about the way that it crouches down and scans the area but i can't quite put my finger on it
make it 300X bigger... evangelion
He walks like he's got a 5 foot dick.
the way that robot walks is a little terrorizing. i can picture it walking and smashing a steel door in a matter of minutes.
oh awesome well then this is cool as shit
The ropes you see are there for support when and if the robot decides to malfunction or lose power. That way the thing doesn't slam into the ground and they lose millions of dollars of engineering.
there's something really really creepy about the way that it crouches down and scans the area but i can't quite put my finger on it
Maybe its because you simply cant imagine any sane human doing that
can't wait to control one of these in real time (if I'm still alive that is). Rock 'em sock 'em terminator edition!
Maybe its because you simply cant imagine any sane human doing that
well the motion is sort of too rubbery to look totally mechanical but too stiff to look entirely natural. i think if you got a person and replaced his mind with a computer that's how he would move, all sort of falsely smooth and unnatural [editline]6th April[/editline] actually i think it looks more like a robot imitating a man imitating a zombie imitating an animal
