look at how massive the nest is, the people living close by probably had massive infestations, and no wasps aren't useful, almost all species are simply parasites

Um. They eat other insects that usually damage plants we use. Lice and all that stuff.
They polinate too.
They are very useful.

I have had a wasp problem, I got a super soaker full of diluted Raid spray, sorted it out pretty fast.
God-damn, I knew flame-throwers had quite a bit of range, but seeing it jettison a concentrated beam of fiery death through the top of a tall tree was just awesome.
Yeah that was some impressive range. Expected a small tree on a street corner.
