This is actually quite an old video (made few weeks ago). Never really bothered posting it on facepunch, but considering how my comparison videos get quite good reputation I figured I should post this as well. The shadows being kind of slow and glitchy are the engines fault, there's a fix for it but I didn't know about it when I made the video.
Theres a fix to the "shifting" shadows? Great video btw.
I hate how the fucking shadows just shift every five seconds instead of gradually changing.
I hate how the fucking shadows just shift every five seconds instead of gradually changing.
And then again we do actually get a lot of beauty without having to have too much of a beast computer
I hate how the fucking shadows just shift every five seconds instead of gradually changing.
There's a way to fix it with some ini modifying or something.
Skyrim is so beautiful, both with the visuals and music. Wouldn't be the same without both together.
Nice. Though the shadow thing is a genius way of making the game less demanding, instead of updating shadows every darn second, its more like each minute now.

Those are pretty good, but I still prefer Red Dead Redemption's time lapses. Too bad it never came to PC, I have an Xbox 360 but I don't buy games for it anymore.

I like how the dragon interrupted the windmill timelapse at the end.
I like how the dragon interrupted the windmill timelapse at the end.
I had to use the bathroom when recording on of the scenes, I was out in middle of nowhere and I had the UI disabled + the camera zoomed out. Okay so I went and took a piss, came back and saw my characters body laying dead next to some bandits.
this video makes me realise how weirdly fast skyrim's game-time is. literally a quarter of a day has passed in the time it takes a guard to walk down the road
fSunUpdateThreshold=0.1 fSunShadowUpdateTime=0.1 (skyrim.ini) :)
this video makes me realise how weirdly fast skyrim's game-time is. literally a quarter of a day has passed in the time it takes a guard to walk down the road
I used set timescale to increase the timescale like 100 times, so time passes 100 times faster.
fSunUpdateThreshold=0.1 fSunShadowUpdateTime=0.1 (skyrim.ini) :)
Awesome man, thank you. That abrupt shadow shifting was bugging the shit outta me.
I used set timescale to increase the timescale like 100 times, so time passes 100 times faster.
So you cheated and didnt actually create a real timelapse.
Skyrim has been out for a few weeks now? I have to start saving up for it.
So you cheated and didnt actually create a real timelapse.
Uh it still is a timelapse, even if I cheated.
