I wonder how self-driving cars handle intersections where there is a police man directing the traffic instead of a traffic light.
In the video, the car is shown to navigate it effortlessly; but, I wonder if that actually happens in reality.

They're able to detect cyclist hand signals, so I'd imagine they could handle it. Though I found nothing on the topic aside from the cyclist stuff.

I think in moments of uncertainty auto-drive turns off and the driver must resume driving manually, like when the tesla can't recognize the lines on the road.
It would probably notice a person in the road and come to a stop until the driver takes the wheel.
