Back when Halo was still planned for the PC. Also, what Halo was supposed to be:
Haha. I was amused.
Oh wow. I still have one of those at home. Darn, those good old days :D
Their modern cards shoot flames too just kidding guys I love nvidia
Reminds me of the cutscene when you beat the demo
8 TEXTURES AT ONE TIME? UNHEARD OF. Also, the cutscene above also plays when you exit the game.
Whoa, nice framerate!
wow these vids are better than the game
lies halo 1 was awesome
Halo 1 was kickass for it's time. It's still pretty sweet, honestly.
First Halo was still cool. Then Halo 2 came and Microsoft made that Windows Vista only and started forcing Games For Windows Live on everything.
I hate it when people who never played Halo complain about it.
I wish Halo was initially a PC exclusive.
Nostalgia'd at the Halo Demo video. I remember playing the demo over and over again. It was kick ass back in the day.
The game still runs pretty bad on a modern computer. Seems like 15-20 FPS.
The game still runs pretty bad on a modern computer. Seems like 15-20 FPS.
Not sure if this is true but you get low fps because nvidia paid bungie to make nvidia cards run good on halo and make other cards in the market go slow, the latest nvidia cards are so new, halo can't recognized! Making your Nvidia 495GTX Super Clocked Edition get 10 fps. Also there was a article about it somewhere that a guy used some program to change the name of his graphics card on halo and he got a very big performance jump.

I think I still have one of those cards lying around.
Why does something tell me that if Halo was still for PC things would be so much better?
Halo 1 was great for PC. The multiplayer was great like, 2 years ago. Now it's all Rockets only or Snipers only.
Why don't developers do this anymore? I actually enjoyed both of the videos.
I love going back in time like this.
Why don't developers do this anymore? I actually enjoyed both of the videos.
Because gaming, is, srs, buisness.
Ati cards don't have flamethrowers :saddowns:
That's some hard core overclocking right there.
Why does something tell me that if Halo was still for PC things would be so much better?
Because that's the truth.
8 textures at full speed!
um what the dicknipples are you talking about it runs fine on any computer made after America gained it's independence
Yeah i got 40 fps solid on my Pentium 2 350mhz, Geforce 5200, and 512mb ram. That was when it was first released. [editline]01:46AM[/editline]
Back when Halo was still planned for the PC.
BTW, thanks for sending me out to find my copy of Halo 1 to install. I also found my UT2004 dvd. Time for an all nighter!
Just found a preview from 1999. Halo had such potential.
man it actually looks half decent in that demo despite how corny it is, try and think what else was out back then in 2000 that compared (besides Half life)
