This is the guy that collabs with Guru Larry, right?
This is the guy that collabs with Guru Larry, right?
Yeah, it's on the same channel.
I feel no empathy for people throwing hundreds of dollars on a kickstarter promise and then it fails
Yeah, it's on the same channel.
Shit, I deserve boxes for that. I thought it was a different channel :suicide:

Kaiju Combat sounds like the a game I'd dump my funding to. Sad that it will more than likely won't see the light of day.
The story behind kaiju combat is much deeper, and involves what is effectively the furry mafia (not even taking the piss, look it up).
Other fun fact: Red and Solomon from the NES Godzilla Creepypasta were supposed to make guest-star appearances in Kaiju Combat.
I feel no empathy for people throwing hundreds of dollars on a kickstarter promise and then it fails
I understand your train of thought and agree with you to an extent but there have been a fair amount of kickstarter projects that delivered and were actually good. Some things that would have never happened if it wasn't for crowdfunding. It's a lot on the backers themselves because a lot of the projects in the video look stupid and were doomed to fail. The Code Hero game looks like something that was created by a bunch of first year university students and they didnt know anything so they just shot for a price tag and just went for it. I've personally seen a shady kickstarter within my local community as well. It was for a fighting game that promised the world etc etc but they had multiple kickstarters (like 4-5) and only two of them succeeded. But the real kick in the nuts is that the main developers were incompetent and did not know enough about the genre to make the game, their PR was terrible (Arguing with people criticizing the game) and they literally got forum users to design their game for them because of how many mistakes they were making. And instead of spending the money on actually completing the characters, they spent it on flashy super moves that looked great but at that point the game still only had two incomplete characters and wasnt even in a playable state yet. Eventually they just gave up but it was a textbook case of clueless game developers who had no idea what they were doing and took people's money in the process.
The story behind kaiju combat is much deeper, and involves what is effectively the furry mafia (not even taking the piss, look it up).
Not willing to look up "furry mafia" so could you please explain
Don't worry too much man, it was done differently as Larry introduced him last time, but this time it just started with Dan.
It's alright, the guy above me got them instead :smug:
Not willing to look up "furry mafia" so could you please explain
The short story is, some furry with a lot of money and fans, known for bullying and threatening members of the community who don't do what he wants backed and threatened to pull support if the devs don't do exactly what he wants, down to absurd design and making an overpowered character.

Shame it's videogames only because there's way crazier stuff and bigger disappointments in TTG development, though they're MOSTLY a safe bet since MOST creators know the risks, logistics, and required time/money to get products out
The story behind kaiju combat is much deeper, and involves what is effectively the furry mafia (not even taking the piss, look it up).
spoonfeed me, this seems interesting
I actually can't find much of it online, no one's really documented the drama at all, weird.
Didn't this happen to a lesser extent with Undertale?
Not really, as far as I remember Undertale had a secret boss that was made by an furry inflation fetish artist who got his character in by donating to a certain tier for the kickstarter and there was a bit of drama surrounding that. I don't really recall what the drama was about but it turned out to be fake.

I honestly thought the boss was kinda neat... and the song was also catchy.

why is this video 20 minutes long really though if you back a kickstarter then failure is a risk you take, running out of budget through unexpected events happening isn't unusual and i don't think that should be taken as "running away with your money" or a scam. usually that's in the "risks and challenges" section as well
Didn't this happen to a lesser extent with Undertale?
afaik there's only this small-time secret monster, it was an open slot and whoever splashed enough money at it got in, but some fat fur 'artist' won the thing to be fair it isn't exactly shoehorned, all the monster is is some fat awkward thing
The best part about Kaiju combat is that the boyfriend of the crazy green kangaroo dude didn't want his character to be put in the game, but his boyfriend went ahead and did it anyway. (It's the fat blue Trex thing shown in the vid).
I'm surprised that Beast's Fury isn't mentioned. :v:
I actually can't find much of it online, no one's really documented the drama at all, weird.
How do you know all this?
afaik there's only this small-time secret monster, it was an open slot and whoever splashed enough money at it got in, but some fat fur 'artist' won the thing to be fair it isn't exactly shoehorned, all the monster is is some fat awkward thing
not the first time, for the skullgirls indiegogo there were tiers to have your character as background characters in a stage and the winners were some non-offensive OCs, a few furries and a blow up doll fetish character. They were all SFW in-game however.

Like babbies first time editing. Not a really bad thing, but hey.
