Not entirely sure if this follow-up to this warrants a new thread, but oh well.
people will defend this zoe quinn shit
I look forward to the day this all comes crashing down, if it ever happens. Apparently Zoe has a panel at PAX, /v/ don't you dare dissapoint me.
Apparently Zoe has a panel at PAX
this should be really good
She was replaced with someone else at least on one of the panels. I doubt she will be there. [editline]23rd August 2014[/editline] http://prime.paxsite.com/schedule/panel/weve-survived-the-internet-and-so-can-you This was the panel she was supposed to be on. Her name was removed about 2 days ago and 4chan was having a laugh how she didn't survive the internet after all.
I love Internet Aristocrat so much. His ability to break things down and push over people's stands is fantastic.
What I hate is that people label this as something else. If you are into the whole "gaming community" thing this is a pretty shitty revealing and awful reveal. It isn't even just Zoe herself, she just brought the focus onto the scummy shithole of the industry/community that she is part of. But no, instead people are accused of being "creepy" for looking into it, or stupid, or misogynistic. It's really fucking disgusting.
I think another part in this that's horrifying is what I see as practically blackmail against people mentioning this. "If you bring this up you will be fired" and "If you want to go further into games dev, talking about this is a bad idea"

At this point in time, journalists should be under the mercy of the devs. [editline]23rd August 2014[/editline] Á propos, I saw a tumblr post that fit my post quite well. Here's the full post http://theswordofcory.tumblr.com/post/95355158349/i-have-a-dream-that-one-day-that-every-gamer-in
That was really informative and interesting, I am going to enjoy the drama this creates.
How in the fuck can you think it's okay to hang out in a hotel room with a bunch of indie developers you're supposed to be writing about that night or the following morning? They're on a bed taking photos together acting like it's a goddamn slumber party. If I were a journalist, I'd stay away from anything like that because that's sketchy as hell.

That said they'd probably accept a fat sum to say good things about AAA games. The most vile thing IMO is RPS, who consistently say that they're a "blog" but as the guy in the vid mentions as soon as there's a chance to get in behind the scenes, review copies etc THEN it's suddenly journalism.
