Escapist uploads every episode of everything a week later.
all valid points, too bad the console market probably won't actually take steps to make themselves more consumer-friendly. But that's why we have PC games in the first place
I like Jim and his weekly videos.
It is good to know what plays.

Lets just get it out of the way straight away even though everyone ought to have figured it by now:
The whole "Thank god for me" thing is a routine skit aimed at annoying people who don't get it's a total joke on people who do actually act like that.
He is not actually like that and it's completely possible to just skip the character segments and get to the brunt of the video if you so wish. When he puts across his opinions he breaks off from the character completely and that's absolutely fine.
I'm not sure why people still care about the character segments so much, if you're still getting annoyed by it after watching his show X amount of times then you really ought to get a damn grip.

This is my first time watching his show and I couldn't tell it's a joke.
If you want people who do the "I'm so above you and better than you and hyper-intelligent" skit well then look at MrBtongue for example.
This guy, while smart and full of good points, is shit at executing this trait or trope.
For people who are bothered by the act and can't watch the video, I'll sum up what he says. He basically says that PC can get away with digital distribution as a primary content distributor because it has a lot of different stores available and as a result, a better priced and competitive market. Whereas consoles have only one storefront that has its prices nearly always matched at retail and doesn't have any competition on the platform to worry about, so there's no reason for them to woo players over with sales and other great incentives.
Another point he makes is that the problem with consoles being always on drm and etc would be stupid because of their plug and play nature. Consoles being no hassle gaming centers is what they're made to be, putting a lot of restrictions and making players jump through hoops before playing a game on their console is a fucking stupid idea compared to just putting the disc in.

Evidently he's doing it bad on purpose and again, if it's really that annoying then why not just skip it? He segments the videos well enough for you to do this.

He really doesn't. And even if he did I shouldn't have to dance around his own bad execution, on purpose or not.
It's hardly "dancing around" it's literally skipping 15 seconds.
His opinions are well thought out and well founded enough to warrant consideration and skipping some minor bits of footage to get that is not a huge undertaking.
If you just flat out don't like his voice or the way he speaks in general then fair enough but I see so many people complaining about his character segments over and over that I fail to understand why they can't just skip it if they care and value his opinion that much.
Why should I or anyone have to fucking skip them. Doesn't matter if they're 15 seconds or over a minute. I'll listen to him and his points but there's no reason for him to hold on to this retarded character trait, especially if the only way you can explain it is "just skip it". Angry Joe completely stays in character through all his videos and people consider him to have legitimate points. Infact people hold him in a higher regard than Jim. I'd consider that more bullshit than something like this where at least it's separate.
If you seriously get annoyed by such a minor thing and feel so insulted when presented with the idea that you can just skip it then you really ought to calm down. At least there's the choice, imagine if he presented his points entirely in that guise that would be something undeniably bad and would fully warrant immense backlash.

Maybe people like the character? Why should he have to change for you, someone who might never watch his videos again, over the people that enjoy his shtick? Get over it.
People dismissing arguments just because they don't like the person who gives them, and often miss the point behind such 'traits'.

There is a veritable difference between someone who has shown bad conduct and bad will towards his audience vs Jim who just purposely portrays himself as dickish on camera as a joke.
At least I assume that's why people dislike TB. Discrediting him purely because they don't like his videos is foolish, the real problem is the stuff he's been doing off camera.

I think you should skip them because I love his character and his show, but his points are less masked in character. You could skip past his remarks in the beginning to the meat of it and find it's much more objective.

What annoys me the most is people claiming TB is a massive douchebag asshole to his fans, when it's quite the other way, he genuinely appreciates spending time with his fans whenever he can and their support.
It's with entitled or dumb fanbois that TB gets pissed, and even then if you actually have some decent reading comprehension skills and common sense, while I won't say they deserve it, they have it coming at them.
