The most versatile weapon in human history is sarcasm.
For real though, the axe is probably the most useful weapon. Just go read Hatchet, I'd like to see you survive in the Canadian wilderness with just a club.

razorblade suit, a step above the spike-covered 'bear suit'
Yeah but a pommel is still a better ranged weapon. Need to conceal it? Stick it in your pocket, no one's going to ask. Need something hard to beat the crap out of someone? Just put the pommel in your hand and hit them like you were trying to break an egg open. Need to beat the crap out of someone who's out of range? Throw it. Need to push or knock over an object some distance away? Chuck that sucker. Need a mace? Screw a stick into the thread hole. Need to ground up your favorite cereal into dust for snorting purposes? It's like a mortar and pestle.
The most versatile weapon in human history is sarcasm.
Oh yeah sure I totally believe that
i'd still say a spear is the ultimate tool/weapon that humanity ever had.
For me it's an axe. Depending on the kind of axe you got you got; 1.Shit that can chop trees and shit, really anything you need 2.Shit that can chop people and also animals 3.Functional as a club also 4.General tool that can cut whatever 5.A walking stick Also it uses less metal than a sword and if the wooden handle fucks up you can slot in a new one Of course it depends on the axe, some axes are not made to be used as tools and so on
i'd still say a spear is the ultimate tool/weapon that humanity ever had.
It's a bloody great weapon, especially if you need to arm a fuckton of untrained people due to its low cost and barely any training needed. But I wouldn't call it versatile, you can't really do much other than poke people with it, and you're fucked if they get past the tip. For versatility I have to give it to the axe too.

The most versitile weapon are these here guns baby :flex:

Considering you're talking about the hatchet, not a war axe. When it comes to tools, a really sturdy knife is as if not more important as an axe. A woodman's knife can do everything the axe can (although axe is better for chopping wood and such) but also you can prepare food and create tools with the knife. The most versatile weapon I'd say has to be the spear. An excellent weapon in hunting and warfare alike. You can throw it, prop it up against a charging foe or animal and even use advanced fighting techniques with if you know some. Honorary mention for the sword, because even if it requires much more material, manufacturing and training, it is still unrivaled in warfare and self-defense, though it loses to spear in hunting.
Isn't it that Markpiler guy?
It's not, no. It's Brendaniel. He does readings of copypastas, bad fanfictions, etc... Like this one
