[hd]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYdPf-WEnnA[/hd] [editline]27th August 2017[/editline] i honestly laughed more at the US version in this because in the UK version i take him more seriously but in the US version it's just so fuckign abusrd and comical
The UK version always gave me that feeling that I was in there as well. Gordon is especially pissed in this one if someone is really shit at something The US version however has to add dramatic sounds and music almost everywhere. Also the disgusting squish noise when Gordon fiddles around on "bad food".
The US version was always focused on "LOOK HOW GROSS THIS PLACE IS! SHOUTING! SCREAMING! MORE GROSS!" for the first half and then it turns into a home makeover show where they replace the furniture and suddenly everything is all golden and nice and happy. UK version feels more real, almost like a documentary. Where Gordon works out the problems in a restaurant and helps the owners through it. Sometimes he does change the furniture, but it isn't edited to look like a magic "now everything's perfect!" switch.
If I hear that fucking violin one more time

UK kitchen nightmares is a treasure, US version is pretty lame and formulaic.
If I hear that fucking violin one more time
It's a violin bow on a cymbal, though.
I watched all the Uk ones and enjoyed them, the very first episode of the US one was crammed full of so much drama and shouting and there are like 4 fights and its just garbage.
The US version is all fake though too. Had a friend that was a sou chef in one of the episodes. Said everything was staged and that the restaurant does it is for business and popularity. He said he made thousands in a week just because of the show, but it was also the busiest ever. For instance one part they took some fake mold and put it in their freezer for Ramsey and then Ramsey just ad-libs along with it all. US version big joke. No surprise. All US reality TV big joke.
The USA version is just too cringey to watch. Just drama on top of more drama. Wouldn't surprise me whatsoever if the USA versions were staged.
i enjoy both.
The US episodes are okay for short clips with cringe value, but I couldn't watch a whole episode of that shit.
I remembered there was one episode in UK where the chef told Ramsay to fuck off and he just walked away The whole episode was him just walking away
That cymbal sound effect always reminds me of walking with dinosaurs https://youtu.be/tehpNJPjwFo?t=220
It's like being able to witness an alternate reality.
It's a violin bow on a cymbal, though.
Speaking of what the fuck sound effects, did you know the pick-up noise in Don't Starve is a flag rope shackle pinging off of a flag pole?
The US episodes are okay for short clips with cringe value, but I couldn't watch a whole episode of that shit.
Really? I've seen all of them and they aren't that bad.
there's a UK episode where Ramsay goes to this Irish family owned restaurant and finds out the head chef has a drinking problem, and he genuinely tries to help the guy out and get him back to being passionate about food. I'm pretty biased but the UK one is honestly so much better than the US one.
If a show is in the UK first then a US version is made, the US version always sucks massive dick in comparison.
If a show is in the UK first then a US version is made, the US version always sucks massive dick in comparison.
What about The Office?
I find with the UK episodes it's easier to identify the episodes themselves and their scenarios. Where as with the US episodes it feels as though most play out almost the same way. Super dramatic and a lot of forced anger moments. That's not to say that the US version is shit I just find the UK version more higher quality, more subtle and more grounded. It also gives the impression that it's less fake, though I can't verify that.
If a show is in the UK first then a US version is made, the US version always sucks massive dick in comparison.
While this generally is true, Whose Line Is It Anyway is another exception because it's just as good as the original UK series
What about The Office?
The Office is good because it kept the spirit of the original show, changing the makeup of the show to match American sensibilities. Kitchen Nightmares wears the façade of the UK show but has none of the original intent behind it.
