Also, yes, mesoamerican religions [B]are[/B] still being practiced in some areas. However, centuries of co-existence with christianity, plus that whole "Any religion is fine as long as it's Christianity" rule the spaniards put in place, means that many of their practices have been abandoned, and others have morphed and adapted to modern society.
