Holy shit. I wonder what other movies do live fire shots.
It sounds muffled in the actual movie clips though What's the point of getting live fire shots if you're going to butcher the sound
It sounds muffled in the actual movie clips though What's the point of getting live fire shots if you're going to butcher the sound
Because you don't want the people watching the movie to go deaf?
Because you don't want the people watching the movie to go deaf?
Muffling does more than alter volume you know, the guns won't even sound cool if they get muffled like that.

Jesus fuck why have they got cameras on the recieving end of a god damn minigun. Flak jacket or not that's a fucking minigun.
next thing you know theyll be grabbing inmates and homeless dudes to be the extras that get shot i mean we need total realism up in this bitch
I love watching guys in boats shoot trucks :v:
Jesus fuck why have they got cameras on the recieving end of a god damn minigun. Flak jacket or not that's a fucking minigun.
Risks must be taken to achieve something like this.
Or blanks maybe? They say real bullets to make it sound interesting, but I'm sure there were some parts where they had to use blanks.
Yeah they probably use blanks for any scenes where there's a high chance of ricochet or stray bullets hitting someone unless they use the "show people shooting cut to what's being shot at" cutting style for every gun battle. But I'm guessing for scenes like they just showed where there aren't going to be any actors on the receiving end they use live fire. [editline]29th January 2012[/editline] It helps that since the majority of the cast are Navy SEALs they'd know proper precautions around live fire.
i think they're more interested in the visuals
I still don't understand why movies hate real gun shot sounds so much If it's too loud then just lower the volume a tad, no reason the ruin the amazing sound of an M240 or a minigun
You just can't capture the whole spectrum of the sound on Camera.
Yeah but the muffling is so obvious Compare 00:11-00:15 to 00:23-00:26 and the transition around 1:12
20% of the budget is probably just insurance
I'm gonna say what i said in an earlier thread featuring this trailer. Still seems like there's gonna be massive fireball explosions and feather light cars flying across the screen.
Didn't they just say all the rounds are live?
I thought they were just referencing the boat scene in particular.
Jesus fuck why have they got cameras on the recieving end of a god damn minigun. Flak jacket or not that's a fucking minigun.
Because they want this shit to be as good as they can get it. This is looking fucking awesome.
As cool as this looks, I feel like it's just going to be a weak movie based around the movie being made itself. Like, a movie just made to say "HEY LOOK WE USED LIVE FIRE", instead of giving us a good story. Basically AVATAR. AVATAR feels like it's just a slave to the technology that was made for it.
Although I'm more or less sold, I just hope it's gonna be a good movie.
Yeah, the vulcan can rip you in half
A vulcan is a 20mm minigun they use on jetfighters, that was an 7.62 M134 I'm pretty sure.
next thing you know theyll be grabbing inmates and homeless dudes to be the extras that get shot i mean we need total realism up in this bitch
Just like the romans and live theatre I wonder whether the shitty acting skills of criminals made up for the realism of an actual beheading, for them. Also, it's pretty obvious that Rambo used blanks, since the brass ejecting are blank cartridges.
they obviously aren't using live fire 100% of the time even in that video you can see they're shooting directly at / over / around cameras and in their general direction, they wouldn't be using live fire
i'd say just use rubber bullets and call it a day altough im sure alot of calibers dont have rubber bullets...
