Episodes 1-4 have their own storyline, and Episode 5 (part of the main Season) starts a new storyline, even leaving the end of the main Season on a very blatant (and lazy) cliffhanger that only gets resolved in the DLC. (Episode 5 starts a storyline where they find a portal to a new world; at the end of the Season Finale, they try to take a portal home and instead end up in the "portal hallway" they talk about in the video. That is how the main Season ends, and you have to buy the three episode DLC to continue the story). On top of that, they seem to be strongly hinting at Season 2 as well. After the DLC was announced, they started making lots of references to "Minecraft: Story Mode - [B]SEASON 1[/B]" and the eighth episode is called "A Journey's End?" ([B]note the question mark[/B]). Yeah, they must be making good money off of this indeed. :s: :surrender:

But then apparently the main story ended in the 4th episode? Now there's 7? I guess its probably easier to shovel these things out the door than their other games because it: has no lore it has to stay consistent with, its targeted at kids so its easier to write, and the minecraft style reduces the amount of time needed to create art assets and animation. If it allows them to build up extra money to put into their other franchises I'm ok with it.

With that and the simplistic animation style, I imagine that saves them a crapload of time and money as you said. As I said above, Minecraft has five episodes in its main Season. However, instead of using all five episodes to tell one story, they use episode five to start a new story arc that conintues into a three episode DLC. They are still going to release an 8th episode at some point, and additionally, they seem to be hinting at Season 2 as if the bonus three episode DLC was not enough for them.
