So it really does sound like you're fucked if you don't have it connected to the net.

the Pr guy seemed to be dodging a lot of his questions, especially when it came to the Used game issue
Jesus, not everybody has internet. When I visit my mom, I play my DRM-free games because there is no internet.
Xbox is done. (kind of has been since Kinect)
I'm curious how it works if, say, you want to borrow your friends game for a few days to see if you like it. I'm assuming you'll still have to buy the license from a borrowed game.
I wonder how absolutely furious the higher ups in Gamestop and Gamefly are feeling about this.
I just hope that, because the used game thing is so awful (worse than always on imo), game retailers pull or at least limit support for the Xbox One. I foresee a lot of PS4 games in my future.
I guess we're just not the target market anymore, what a shame. There's still the PS4 I guess.
Awesome! I can still watch blu ray movies without an internet connection.
See guys you were all worrying about always online for nothing.
I still think xbox one would be more appealing if there was an option you could switch to make your entertainment console into a nielsen box. So much crappy shows getting ratings which I find questionable to certain demographics.

seriously, I would have loved to known this at the press conference then tv crap, having your heat monitored is really nice to know.
Would have been cool if they came up with a new logo for One, since the 360 bit now is obsolete. But recognisability is more important to them than a logo that actually fits the name, it seems. (Though confusion between One and 360 is another problem that would arise.)
Piece of trash. Only console I've bought is the PSP or gameboy.
As a PC user I would say the PS4 is a dead cert if you want a console.

Ehhh, people will just call it the "new xbox" and the Xbox 360 "360". Won't be a big thing at all.
Do these companies (EA, Microsoft, etc) read anything written by the community at all? I have literally never heard anybody say a good word about always-on DRM.

xbox: on for always online and getting it out of sleep mode, "xbox on", the logo could be the power logo from xbox replacing the O.
All of this I hope is building up to a resurgence of PC gaming. Not that I want to throw console gamers under the bus it's just that it's about god damn time PC gamers started getting their fair share of preferential treatment.
If that heartbeat thing he mentioned with the kinect works well it would be interesting to see a horror game use it to detect when you are scared or not so it can change the game to fuck with you better.

It won't, if anything it'll lead to the PS4 dominating the market while the Wiiu caters to the average family.

from what I've heard valve has been looking into using this, so perhaps this is what they used instead of strapping a piezo to your chest.
