This feels like they're trying to turn Stargate into Indiana Jones of sorts. Does anyone else get that vibe?

Actually the vibe I got was similarities to The Mummy, especially because of the main trio, but instead of Brendan Fraser's cocky no-nonsense character they've got a skinny nervous British guy with all the charisma of a garden snail
This looks like a fan film.
Did... I make this?
It looks like something Freddie Wong could make.
lol the stargate looks like a 6 inch diameter model toy, you can even see the symbol on the spinny bit push up the pointy part

Wait so is this a movie or a tv series? Either way.. uh I don't know what to think.
Edit:
Wikipedia says "web series".

"The series will consist of 10 episodes, each 10 minutes in length, essentially a 10-episode feature length movie, and will expand upon the existing mythology of the Stargate franchise. Stargate Origins is set to premiere on February 15, 2018."
:s:
This looks like trash
What the fuck is this trash?
Somebody tell me this is some fan parody.
Please.

:v:
They took one of my favorite sci fi shows and shit all over it :suicide: why the hell is this trying to imitate indiana jones?
Unfortunately they should've known that by being canon they boxed themselves into "the-nazis-will-steal-it-and-we-gotta-get-it-back" cliche.
No one went through the gate before '94 sans the brief activation and Ernest Littlefield's expedition.

Hoooo boy, this is going to be a trainwreck...
Give me an SG-1/Atlantis continuation you FUCKS

I want more Universe. I know people are split on it but at least we can probably all agree its not this bad.
universe was actually pretty nice, and got good near the end.
Is this for YouTube Red?
This looks utterly terrible.
Though they did manage to get Connor Trinneer, so I'll assume he's low on cash at the moment.
I guess theres no hope for a new stargate series since I know this ones gonna bomb
Is it just me or is the gate uncannily clean in this?
last year three things got announced, this, discovery, and Orville. My expectation was discovery hurtful to watch, Orville revolting, and origins the most hope for.
Discovery is still bad, but I least hated the most recent episode
The Orville was the biggest surprise for a tv show's quality I've ever had
And Origins, I feel so bad now.
This show looks like it's going to be good.
Im not mad about the tone and style because SG has always been best as a melodramatic campy adventure series, but there's just nowhere I'm seeing this plot able to go without disrupting canon in a weird way.

Universe being cancelled still bothers me because it spun its wheels with pointless drama for a season and a half, got cancelled, and THEN got good before ending abruptly.
Just in time to finish off Fuck You it's January.
I'm still hopefully optimistic, trailers can make anything look shit.
I remember The Orville trailer and how I thought that would be family guy tier parody levels of bad, turned out to be some of the best Star Trek like sci-fi in a long time.

I just wanna see Stargate survive man.

I agree i actually miss Universe it was ahead of it's time yeah it's more darker and has less comedy than earlier Stargates but it was still unique and it got really interesting in Season 2. Died before it had the chance to flourish and people are putting hopes into Origins that it somehow revives the franchise with this shitshow it doesn't look like it who knows maybe it will draw in new people that are stuck on the Indiana jones vibe can't hurt more than a dead franchise

Indiana Jones and the Stargate was the only thing I could think of watching this trailer.

"I've never seen something I haven't seen before!"
The actors can't project their voices at all.
I seriously dont get why they slapped stargate on this. It looks like they REALLY wanted to do a cheap Raiders of the lost ark and didnt care at all about the universe of Stargate, and in the end nobody is gonna want to watch this because it insults the fans of the series but doesnt have any identity of its own either.
Who thought this was a good idea.
